Their hiker hostel was terrible!

First of all, you have to share one dirty bathroom with 20ish people. And again, nobody cleans that bathroom.

Second of all, they don’t clean or change sheets! Spray febreze after the hiker’s check out.

One of our friends grabbed a “clean” towel with vomit on it.

They’re terrible at keeping reservations. They can cancel your reservation without a notice and still can blame you for that.

Overall, worst place to stay in Gorham. You can pay $10-$15 more and share a room in hotel or try to tenting at other places in town.

I do not comment or share reviews on Google much but I want to warn everyone about this nasty place.

Outstanding little B&B! Stayed two nights on a hiking road trip. Very well-appointed, immaculately clean, great service. Almost like we were staying in a turn-of-the-century museum. Perfect continental breakfast. And all at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend staying here if you're in the area.

10/10 would stay again. Paul is an incredible host who really cares about hikers and his business. The hostel itself is a converted carriage house which gives the whole place a cool and unique vibe. There are many full sized beds and all have fresh linens. We decided to do the free slackpack for a 2 night stay deal. The hike is challenging but beautiful. Paul is very reliable and picked us up in under 10 minutes after we called him when we got to route 2. There is onsite laundry for 5 dollars which includes detergent. There is also a full kitchen, spacious lounge area with cable tv and ping pong table and a large backyard. Shuttles run to trailheads and Walmart daily at scheduled times so you really can do all your town chores at this place. It is also located less than .1 from a gas station and subway and within walking distance to many fast food places. There is an outfitter very close and an all you can eat brunch buffet with happy hour deals on drinks. This place has a lot of great things to offer but Paul’s kindness, compassion and desire to help our hikers is what makes this place especially awesome.

The Barn (The hiker hostel next to the Libby House B and B) is an amazing hostel for thru hikers or budget travelers looking to stretch their funds. Paul, the owner, really cares about hikers. He does trailhead pickup and dropoff as well as a shuttle to Walmart in the evening. Tenting is 15, Bunks are 22 so the place is very reasonably priced, and much cheaper than other options, though you wouldn't know by the quality. He has onsite laundry for an additional 5, and a full kitchen, as well as TV, ping pong, WIFI and a generous yard and common room for killing a zero day. Slackpacking between Pinkham Notch and US 2 is free with a two night stay which is one of the best deals on the trail. You are centrally located in town and right across the street from a 24 hour convenience store and a Subway for those who really look to minimize bonus miles, as well as within a mile of several chains. This is a low key hostel, quiet hours start at 9pm, so you will be assured your rest. That said, myself and some other hikers conducted a low key Monopoly game well into the night, we just kept it quiet. Drinking is permitted, just be an adult about it because rowdy behavior is banned, not a party place. I loved my time here waiting out bad weather in the Whites, and I'd recommend this place to any hiker in need of a little R and R. Reserve a spot the day before if you can because this place fills quick!

We rolled into town off the trail on the 12th. Finn was able to get a signal on top of mount success and made a reservation for the Barn. They fill up quickly with hikers so if you can reserve a spot you should. Paul the owner is a solid dude and will pick you up from the route 2 trail junction. The barn is the hostel connected to the Libby house b&b. I was able to shower and do laundry and cook. Paul does a fantastic job keeping the place nice while accommodating people when they need a ride to or from the trail. Awesome zero day.

Bobby and Paul are amazing. They are cusions and work well together. We stayed here 7 years ago and it was amazing. We just left today after being there for two nights. Our room was clean and comfortable. The whole inn is amazing. Thank you.

Our son is hiking Southbound on the Appalachian Trail. We wanted to meet him for his 18th bday (quite a feat to coordinate with good timing, let me tell you!). We called the Libby House after we landed in Boston. They were so nice enough to give us the charming garden room (a king size bed and a twin) for my husband, daughter and me at a great rate. The hostel is full of three generations of antiques (including quite a doll collection) and is said to have a ghost! ||||Our son was staying in The Barn, which is just what it sounds like: A barn connected to Libby House with a lot of beds in it designed for hikers in a shared space. The Barn was perfect for him at only $22 a night with a refrigerator and kitchen space. However, we like our privacy and the cozy and clean garden room was the ticket. Bobby and Paul loaned us plates from Libby House so we could make a birthday dinner for our son and his friends in The Barn. They already had pans and cleaning items available for use.||||In Libby House, Bobby left us baked goods and bananas for breakfast. The Barn offered a shuttle for the boys to head off to slack hike Pinkum Notch while my daughter slept in. It was a lovely visit and being able to stay that close to our hiker made his birthday extra special! ||||And no, we never saw the ghost;)

I grew up in Gorham, NH so I am very familiar with it and its special small town feel and quaintness. I recently went back to see the foliage and to visit some friends and this is the first time in a long time I did not stay in the house I grew up in. I booked a room at Libby House Inn and it could not have been any more wonderful. The owner, Bobby, Is a caring kind man and was so easy to speak to.||I came the weekend of the Hurricane in FL and he was so accommodating as I didn't know if I would be able to get out of the state...he kept checking on me as I was traveling to make sure I could get out. The house is perfectly located right across from the Town Park(or Common) and is on Main Street. Bobby decorated the house for Halloween like you can NOT believe. There were kids and families out at night that came just to see his decorations (Inside the house as well). He leaves a basket each night on your door with pastries for the next morning, juice and each room has a coffee maker. Theres a wonderful porch on the front of the house with chairs and a great place for hikers to stay as well. Bobby has decorated the house with antiques and some are even from his family. Everything is interesting and homey. I really really enjoyed my stay here. I didn't know how I would feel not staying in the house I grew up in...but this place was homey and Bobby just made the stay so easy.
