My stay at Ships Inn in Hampton beach was an absolute nightmare. The room was $150 during their off season on Sunday so I assume the room would be decent. The photos did not match their website. From the moment I walked into the hotel, it was clear that the hotel was in a state of neglect and disrepair. The hallway was filthy, with mold and mildew covering the walls and ceilings — a serious health risk. The air smelled musty and damp, and the smell in the room instantly made me gag. I immediately had an asthma attack which proved the air quality was unsafe which was completely unacceptable. It was disgusting and unsafe to even breathe in the space. I didn’t even feel comfortable putting my stuff on the bed.||I immediately went to the front desk to voice my concerns and let them know we would not be staying. The staff were unhelpful and told me that only the manager could address my request. We checked out within 30 minutes of checking in because the conditions were so appalling.||It’s been over a week since, and I have not heard from the manager despite calling and emailing. I spoke to the “front desk manager” and was also told that they would deny my refund request outright after the fact. This hotel has shown zero integrity or customer care. I’m not asking for much — just a reasonable response to a horrendous experience, but this hotel has completely failed to live up to basic standards.||This hotel poses serious health risks and has no regard for customer well-being or satisfaction. I would strongly recommend staying far away from this place. If you value your health and time, avoid Ships Inn at all costs.

Bed buggggssss

We woke up at 1am with the beds covered in bed bugs. My 1 year old in the room. Called the 24 hour emergency line the gentleman was unhelpful. Told me I couldn’t get a refund that they would put me in another room or I could wait until 11am the following day for a refund.
We had to call the police to come and it was only because of the really nice front desk girl Erica who felt bad that my one year old is in a bug infested (commercial) trap house that we got our $900 back

Would not recommend.

This happened on 12/30/24 if you’re there for new years in room 1c that’s where we were

reviews are very wrong, no mold on walls and customer service was exquisite, bed was comfortable and overall a great experience, i recommend this hotel as a cozy, quiet option for anybody in the area, or if your visiting hampton beach

Rough accommodations. A cabin would have been better. A lot of noisy traffic. |Our room was on the second floor. Took a long time to get hot water. |No mirror above bathroom sink. Requested one from office. Maintenance installed one. Bathroom fan didn't work. Maintenance man removed it |and left a mess on the bathroom floor. |No tissues provided and office didn't have any. No soap or shampoo provided. Had to go to office to get some. |Not all the electrical outlets worked. No light bulbs in refrigerator or oven. No clock. |Domestic disturbance all night long next door. |Only positive was location.

I called and made a reservation for one night. I called back 5 minutes later to cancel because I was worried the bridge to Portsmouth wasn't in operation (Google maps said I needed to travel 1 hour to get around the bridge). FYI I think the bridge seemed fine when we traveled there. The person on the phone refused to cancel my reservation! After attempting to contact the hotel again through phone and email I did a chargeback on my credit card. I don't know what they told the credit card company when they investigated but I ended up having to pay the $205. Buyer beware with this inn. I never stayed there so I cannot comment on the rooms.

Sunked Ship

I was incredibly disappointed. The location was not as advertised, (we got some random less cared for adjacent building) and the parking situation was a nightmare. The building itself was in a state of disrepair, with visible water damage and mold.

The room was equally unpleasant (understatement). It was dirty and neglected, with uncleaned towels, a fridge wasn't working, and disturbingly, what appeared to be bloodstains on the walls, curtains, and towels. The most unsettling detail was a handprint on the window that looked like someone had been dragged down. (?!?!?)

I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. One person at the front desk seemed genuinely kind. Otherwise no.

Positive: proximity to the beach Negative: Really outdated. No ice machine. Old furniture. Lack of security. Very low water pressure in shower. No screens on windows. Balcony door has no lock. $20 resort fee is a joke! This place is far from a resort. Did not feel safe.
