When you stay here, you become a temporary member of the family. ||The kindness of the hosts was unparalleled. Jennifer was bubbly and receptive. She treated our dogs as the members of our family that they are. This is by far the most pet friendly place I’ve ever been. She shared the shed peacock feathers generously and the food was delicious. She went out of her way to accommodate my many food allergies. When our car unexpectedly broke down Jennifer and her husband offered us one of their vehicles to borrow to drive to Beatty to get what we needed. We ended up not using it, but the offer was magnanimous.

We had a reservation which wasn’t necessary because the place was empty. When we got there, out in the middle of nowhere, we saw her yard filled with 50 peacocks, goats, cats.
She knew we were bringing a dog and didn’t mention her menagerie. There was no way we could safely bring our dog in there. The owner assured me she understood and would let Booking. Com know to waive the fee. She told me that over and over. I got an email from Booking saying they refused to waive the fee. I called like the wife told me to, and her husband rudely told me she said something quite different to him and they were charging us anyway. I really don’t respect dishonesty

Words don’t do justice to the hospitality of the hosts and the vibe of this place. From the warm family style breakfast served at the dining table , to the beautiful premium rooms and just how nice the owners are, it’s all amazing. The location is out of this world. When you’re sitting in the courtyard enjoying the view of the vast serene desert and the hills at the distance, or gazing at the starlit night sky, you forget about your 9-5 job and other insignificant worries, and just get lost in the beauty of this creation. Death Valley is like no other place.
The cherry on the cake, however, are the peacocks. There’s over 25 of them, amongst whom you can stroll around in the courtyard, just enjoying their presence. They are not afraid of the humans and will let you enjoy their beauty from up close. But please respect their space and don’t try to touch them.

We stayed for one night at this B&B. It is one of the few choices available outside the park but it is quite a distance from the park entrance ~45 mins. We booked it as we were going to head back to Vegas so didn’t mind it being out of the way but the weather made it farther than it was due to slow driving conditions . The closest and quite a small town of Bixby is around 40 mins away and has some basic amenities but nothing big so plan accordingly.
This place is in middle of nowhere so try and get there before it gets dark. Our stay was ok. The hospitality is great, we got upgraded to the Asian suite which was nice but it had different amenities than the standard room which we had originally booked. Jennifer and Nigel were great both during our stay and before when we called to ask about few things. We were able to use the full kitchen to heat/ prep our dinner which we were advised to get with us or have it in Bixby before getting there. We got there on a relatively colder and wet day so did not spend a lot of time outdoors but that is an option. It is very serene and quiet and the peacocks on the property are a delight.
The reasons for a 4 star rating are few oddities which kind of are expected but still maybe would help another traveler decide. The mattress in our room was way too soft- if one person was on the bed the other person will roll towards them because of how soft it was. There were hair on our duvet which was little eww- and also dust in the room. The bed and bedsheets were clean so I just shook the duvet and ignored it. The main area had a smell like a cat’s litter and it was not great when the windows were closed due to the cold. I think they sprayed some room freshener after a bit but it was little off putting. There was a cat on the property which I don’t mind and it was outside when we came. When we went to heat our dinner it was inside and jumped twice on the kitchen shelves and island while we were prepping our food- again not an issue as we were able to shoo it down but can be an issue if you are allergic and/ or mind cats being so close to your food. Breakfast in the morning was ok- simple home cooked meal which we appreciated. Lot of great tips on how to plan our day from Nigel which was helpful. Overall if we were staying more than a night we would have not chosen to stay here but for one night it was ok.

This place had great reviews & once we got there I could see why. The hosts/owners were there to greet us & very nice. Welcomed our service dog, even gave her treats at breakfast. The room was on the smaller side but we had our own bathroom & the homemade breakfast was great. It was quiet & peaceful. I would definitely stay again but maybe in a bigger room next time. Other than that I would recommend this place when passing through beatty, NV.

I want to start by saying, I had a wonderful time. The owners are friendly, helpful, warm & welcoming, and communicative. I remembered seeing this place as a kid, and I didn't realize it'd been made into a bed & breakfast, with peacocks roaming the grounds, so I had to go.
The price was reasonable, room was clean with a comfortable bed & a hot shower. My room was switched when I arrived to put me toward the front of the inn, which I didn't have an issue with. However, the room I'd initially looked at had a tv, so it ended up being a quiet, boring night (I hadn't thought to bring a book or my laptop). Also the "themed" rooms are kitschy & fun, but not as impressive in person as online photos suggest.
Which leads me to the location: obviously when you book, you know it's in the middle of nowhere, but you need to plan for it. Luckily when I called to check my reservation earlier in the day, the warned me to have or bring dinner. The nearest town is Beatty, and there aren't many places to get food there. Luckily, I'd been in Pahrump earlier that day and brought food from there.
Speaking of food, the complimentary breakfast was delicious and lovely. The others guests and I sat at a nice dining room table with actual place settings, and were made a delicious home-cooked meal, which we could smell coming from the kitchen. It felt like a nice family breakfast, with everyone sharing where they were headed next.
A fun and pleasant experience if you plan for it and find yourself staying in that area.

We stayed here a few years ago and were charmed by the hosts, their pets, and the setting. We returned for a recharging weekend in the hottest part of summer. In Death Valley.||The cabin was perfect, AC and air circulation/cleanliness topnotch. Loved the peacocks and birding from the deck. Spectacular night skies. We saw meteors.||You will love and appreciate the attentive hosts. This place is a true gem.
