We had a great dining experience at the Owl Café. We started with local raw oysters and crab cakes then, shrimp and grits, filet Oscar, chicken salad salad , fresh fish of the day. It was very cozy and we enjoyed ourselves. Our waitress was very king and attentive.

August 2024!
We were lucky to get a table since the restaurant was packed, although it wasn’t high season.
We had some great drinks and a really kind server. Even though they do not offer many vegetarian options they made me some delicious veggie tacos. The “catch of the day” was also really good. They had someone playing the piano which added to the nice atmosphere.
It’s a bit pricey but definitely worth it because of the high quality food and service.

We (party of 4) found the food to be very good. Very nice, clean, spacious dining area with indoor and outdoor seating. Stairs or outside elevator to 2nd floor. Very enjoyable meal. They may have been slightly understaffed on an off-season weekday. Staff was cordial and appreciative, but wait time was above average.
The 2 experts both loved their shrimp dishes. My fish sandwich was wonderful. A huge portion on a fresh bun with fresh greens. Fries are lightly seasoned. Very satisfying. With dessert... about $25 per.

We had a group of 5 with multiple food restrictions & substitutions requested for our lunch here. The server was excellent & brought us all of our meals with no issue. The food was wonderful & the seating area nice & open. Outdoor seating was plentiful as well!

A beautiful restaurant, with a great ambiance. The host stand is upstairs, but they do have signage for an elevator. We did wait about 7-10 minutes before we were acknowledged, although a lot of staff walked by us. It was a sort of busy Saturday afternoon.

After we were seated, it took additional time to get waters and our drink order. Our waiter was nice, but I think the kitchen may be on the first floor. Perhaps that was the delay. We ordered Gumbo and the Chicken Salad Club. We were both very happy with our selections. The view was beautiful, and the inside of the restaurant very nice.

Parking is all street parking, although it is free. We visited on Porch Music weekend, so the entire town was very busy.

This was a VERY nice place for lunch. Had the shrimp po'boy and a chicken salad salad. It was a very nice, quiet place for lunch. It is in the upstairs of a vintage building (there is an elevator if needed). Our server (Monet) was very professional and friendly. Will definitely be stopping back when we're in the area!

The interior of the place is clean and has a nice bright feel. I sat by a window seat that had a nice view. I got the Alligator Bites, which I recommend; they taste like chicken, and there was a touch of spice in the breading. I got the 14-ounce ribeye and special ordered it to get grilled shrimp on the side. The steak was basically all fat, which was very disappointing for over $30. The grilled shrimp were good; they included lemon. Waitstaff was friendly, but my waitress struggled to understand that I was only interested in meat for the meal. It was not a bad restaurant and there were good and interesting menu items, but I was not terribly impressed. There was also an incident where after my vacation, I discovered they had overcharged me by $20 despite me clearly leaving a cash tip and not consenting for that amount of money to be pulled from my credit card. They did refund me the $20 after a week and a half of calling them. What is strange is that coincidentally, I had the same thing happen to me at a restaurant on St. George's Island in the same time frame

Absolutely our favorite restaurant in the area! Very casual but a touch of class. We were there on a Friday evening after enjoying all the area shops. Did not expect the white table cloths, great selection of wines and beer, smooth jazz in the background and then someone came in to play piano. Our waitress was exceptional and the food was excellent! You get a real chef, not line-cooking. And fair prices!! Not over-priced with entrees starting under $20. Plus, they seated us separate from families with small children. Accidentally or not, a definite PLUS for us. We will be back!
