If you want a river tour with a knowledgeable guide then Captain Jimmy is your man. Personality plus. My 2 sisters and I took a sunset tour and he was determined that we got the perfect sunset photo. He loves the river and it shows.

Capt. Jimmy is an excellent guide. Put us right on the fish with his first and only stop. We caught fish this morning until we were tired. His personality makes the trip that much more of a great experience. I’m 42 years old and I have fished all over and today’s trip is by far at the top of the list of my most memorable ones. He even recommended a local eatery who cooked up our catch for us.

Late last year (2019) a buddy of mine invited me to take a fishing trip with him and Capt. Jimmy for some redfish action. I had never been before, however my friend had been several times in the past and keeps going back year after year. After one day, I could see why he does! Backwater Guide Service did a great job putting us on fish AND keeping us out of the rain! We ended up catching some trout, triple tail and 19 redfish by end of day. If you want to try some inshore fishing from a guide who knows his stuff, I HIGHLY recommend Capt. Jimmy at Backwater Guide Service!

Over a very full day, Capt. Jimmy worked hard to get us into fish. Leaving before sun up to get the tides right, we successfully fished the backwaters of Apalachicola Bay, limiting on redfish early. He then ran us out the pass to fish outside the bay islands. This was equally successful -- with gorgeous scenery on a beautiful late September day. Looking forward to the next trip.

I have never had a bad day with Captain Jimmy. Even when the odds are not in your favor, he is going to put you on some fish. When the odds are in your favor, oh boy getting ready for tight lines and screaming reels! Its always a pleasure fishing with Jimmy.

Past due review.. Capt. Jack is a Fantastic guide, full local knowledge. Took my wife who has MS and her sisters on a eco tour of the bay area, they loved it. He made her boat ride more then comfortable for her. Next day Jack and I went out fishing, caught several nice reds and a few trout. I will most diffinty call Jack again. You dont just get a guide, you got a good friend. Thanks Jack

If you want to catch fish Captain Jimmy Maxwell is the only guy to go to. We have fished with him for six straight years and always slay them. Today's catch was 72 white trout, 15 specks and our limit of red fish.
