Absolutely lovely afternoon sail. Our captain, Dusty was so friendly and extremely patient with our 8 year old son who had a million and one questions. He got 1:1 lessons with Dusty on raising the sails, steering the boat, and learning proper sailing terminology. Top tier experience. Highly recommend!

Captain Abe took our family of 5 out for the 5hr tour in the southern Apostle Islands. We had a phenomenal time sailing. We even got to SUP around one of the sea caves! We saw eagles, frogs and a couple of snakes. We jumped off the boat and played music. Thoroughly enjoyable day - I highly recommend this business!!

Starling was our sailing boat.
She felt like a dream and was polished to a shein of wood and
creamy canvas sails.
Starling tracked beautifully and gave us a stunning day with perfect weather and winds.
Dusty was our captain.
He was beyond exemplary as a captain. Dusty was kind, courteous, and extremely tolerant of 3 young, rambunctious children. The kids were allowed to handle the helm and help with the rigging. We moved around the boat with ease due to Dusty's expert instructions
It was without a doubt a memorable outing while camping in Bayfield, WI.

Sailing with Dusty was an awesome experience! He was easy and fun to talk to. He let each one of us learn how to drive/steer the boat. I learned so much about sailing, the wind, and water. Was a very peaceful and educational adventure! Definitely bring layers as we went from warm to cool and back to warm with the way the wind hit. Dusty took pictures for us and let my friend and I relax on the pillows at the front of the boat too.

Had the most amazing time out on the water with Dusty as our captain. He was so patient and informative with all of the kids and all of their questions. We couldn't have had a better day out on the lake. One of my children started to feel motion sick and Dusty was very quick to try everything he could to mitigate my child's motion sickness.
It was also very easy to book with them online. Their website is super easy to navigate.

I dare you to find nicer gentlemen to sail with! Captain Abe and deck hand Josh were a joy to sail the with!! I got the chance to help hoist the sails and learn a bit during my first time sailing, but most of the time was spent relaxing and enjoying the immensely beautiful scenery of the waters surrounding the Apostle Islands. My wife, two friends, and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I'm already counting counting down 'til the next chance I get to go sailing aboard the charming "Starling"! Totally worth it and I would highly recommend booking a trip with True North Sailing Charters!!

Since we booked the 5-hour excursion, we opted for the free add-on of sleeping on the boat the night before as it's docked. It was so much fun!! Sure, it's not as luxurious as a hotel, but it was advertised as "camping" out on the boat, which is acurrate. It may not be for some who don't sleep well outside their own bed, the bunks were narrow but I loved it. To me it was worth it to get the full experience and enjoy more time with the boat.  A nice bonus was that we had the evening before sailing to hang out on the boat as well, and this was almost as fun as the sailing trip itself!
