We were a couple of weary travelers, just having hiked Mount Katahdin the day before...We were road tripping back down south and decided we needed a place to stay along the way. Mainsail was the place! Everything here was perfect, the walk to the beach was idyllic. The area feels a little out-of-time but the motel felt like home away from home. The front desk manager was super accommodating and made sure we had a ground level, because I'm not sure we would have made it up the stairs!

Very nice employees, clean and quiet. Guest are nice. Great location 1/2 a block to the beach. Staying for the winter, can't wait for a major snow event to see at the ocean. Well thanks everyone.

We have stayed here while in Hampton Beach on a couple of occasions. The rooms were cute and clean with hard floors (no carpet). The bed was comfortable. There was a little area with a sink, microwave, small refrigerator and counter space. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The location is walking distance to everything we needed. We will definitely be repeat customers!

The room we had was overall clean ! We loved that it's hard floor and not carpet. It magically makes it cleaner in my opinion.

The decor was cute. It seems like they regreshed not too long ago.

We REALLY appreciate the little counter area with the sink, small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. It made it easy to prepare breakfast and snacks without feeling we were doing everything on the one table.

The beds were comfortable.

It was quiet. We didn't hear anyone or anything from outside so we slept like babies !

Parking is easy ! The location is gold ! You're seconds walking from the beach, restaurants, stores, arcades... it was absolutely fabulous for that !

The staff, all the staff, was absolutely lovely. We asked for more towels, they came in a few minutes. Everyone offered help when we were packing the car... really kind, attentive people !!

We had a great stay at the Main Sail! The location is perfect—just a short walk to the beach, boardwalk, shops and restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and accommodating, check-in and check-out was a breeze. The only minor downside was that the parking area was a bit tight, but overall, we were very pleased with our experience. We would definitely recommend the Main Sail to anyone looking for a convenient and cozy place to stay at Hampton Beach!" Look forward to trying their cottages in the future.

I've had the pleasure of visiting the Main Sail Motel in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, every year for my entire life, and it's been an incredible experience! This oceanfront gem has become a beloved tradition that I look forward to annually.

The hotel's highlights include stunning ocean views, comfortable and modern rooms, and a prime location just steps from Hampton Beach's vibrant boardwalk. However, what truly sets the Main Sail Hotel apart is its exceptional staff. They're always welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable, making every stay feel like home.

If you're planning a visit, I recommend booking an oceanfront room for the ultimate experience, planning ahead for parking, and taking advantage of the hotel's beach chairs and towels.

Overall, I give the Main Sail Motel a well-deserved 5/5 rating. Its consistency, charm, and exceptional staff keep me coming back year after year. Will I be back? Absolutely!

This is not a friendly place. My wife and I, ages 81 and 79 respectively, had a reservation. We arrived and were assigned an upstairs room. We then requested a downstairs room but were told none was available. So upstairs we go without any motel personnel available to assist us with our luggage. Once we were in our room and unpacked the fellow at the desk comes by and says he will negotiate with us. He now had a downstairs room we could have for another ten dollars. We declined since we were already installed in our upstairs room.

The next morning, we asked at the desk if someone could help us take our luggage downstairs. The same fellow at the desk simply said, “No.”

The guest book in our room had an odd request, that guest remove the bedding before checking out.

It's that kind of place.

I rented a two bed two bath room that over looks the pool. Was told it was renovated and we are SO disappointed. Paint chipping, floors pulling apart, rusted refrigerator……. I don’t even want to stay the full weekend bc our bed tips towards the wall. I work all year to provide our family with this getaway and im beyond disappointed. And this place isn’t cheap by any means. Won’t be coming back.
