Small, but staff are extremely helpful. I stopped in to get my Hwy 50 Loneliest Road Survivor passport stamped and also received a lengthy list of recommended local stops. The Nevada State Museum next door is highly recommended, but I had to skip since I was traveling with my dog. Highly suggest stopping in to get some local recommendations. The stop won't take long and the parking is really easy.

Helpful staff. Exhibits were a bit sparse given the great history of this area. Unfortunately, the walking tours rely solely on self guided maps.

Passing through Carson City for the day and popped in to make sure I hit all the top spots. After chatting with friendly staff I've decided I needed more than one day. She was extremely helpful and provided me with maps of the area and advised me of some upcoming events. Even if you're a local, you should check out the center. You never know what you could be missing

The Nevada state museum and historical homes tours were educational, interesting and nice way to get to know area. Also learned the advantages of having conventions in Reno and beautiful parts of Northern Nevada

Super helpful staff. My car was being worked on so I had an afternoon to fill. They have me ideas and maps. So much I wanted to do after taking to the woman at the visitors center. The afternoon passed before I got to do all I had planned. A great resource!

Well, I showed up at 4:15 pm on a Monday ready to find out some info about Carson City. I am from San Diego, CA and was vacationing in Lake Tahoe. We are leaving tomorrow, so this was the last chance to find out anything. Checked the Nevada museum....closed on Mondays. 😑 Next...visitor’s center. Open until 5 pm...perfect! Get there and see the flashing “Open” neon sign. Grabbed the door. Locked! No one around at all. Thanks a lot for nothing. 😑😑😑
