We like this place a lot. The location is really good and convenient to everywhere we go. The suites are charmingly decorated and comfortable for a stay or overnight or several days. We have stayed in most of the units, but our favorite is “Attaché,” which has a garden view. I love the wood floors and windows. There is a cool white noise machine by the bed that I use every time. All of that being said, it’s time to consider a refresh. The kitchen faucet dripped annoyingly for our entire stay. The shower control was a screw where there used to be a pullout. The refrigerator is pockmarked with rust. Things are starting to look a little worn. We’ll be back, but it would be nice to see things upgraded a bit. Note: remember that there are fairly steep stairs (22, according to my spouse) to the individual accommodations. Bringing up a lot of heavy luggage is a challenge.

We wanted to book the Consulates several times before but they were already booked on our desired date. This time we booked the Attache Room and it exceeded our every expectation. The full size kitchen was a complete surprise which just added to the spaciousness of the room. We appreciated all the amenities and the location is in the center of everything. We had a wonderful weekend and are already planning a return. We will always try to stay here anytime we visit Apalachicola. The only issue is the walls are a bit thin in the bedroom. We could hear the person in the next room coughing all night long and it sounded as if they were in our own bedroom. After they checked out the next night was much quieter. Even with that we absolutely loved staying in this historic property and will always recommend it.

We stayed in the Attaché suite. It was perfect! Had everything we needed and more. Comfy, clean...the exposed brick and tin ceiling tiles were beautiful. We loved the garden view, sitting out on the balcony for morning coffee is a must! We also loved all the sweet kitties. We will definitely be back.

Stayed three nights while attending niece's wedding in the riverfront park across the street. Our one-bedroom suite was perfect for two with a spacious living room and kitchen plus outdoor balcony. Apalachicola is full of history and local color, all within easy walking distance, along with great dining options and interesting shops. Rooms are often used for extended stay and are not serviced daily unless requested.

An historic building restored into suites that are larger than most condos. Very comfortable, clean, great view of the river from our upstairs balcony. All the luxury extras of a good hotel. There was even a laundry room with private washer and dryer. The location is right in the middle of the Apalachicola historical area, close to restaurants, bars, shopping. The only issue is that being historical, there is no elevator. So if you book a room on the second floor, be advised that you will be using stairs.

We returned here recently, this time to the “Attaché” unit where we have stayed before. As had been our prior experience, the suite was thoughtfully prepared and immaculately clean. The location for visiting Apalachicola is ideal; a quick trip down the back stairs and you’re downtown; you can walk pretty much everywhere. The unit itself has everything you'd want, and the high ceilings make it seem especially spacious. Note, though, that all of the accommodations in the building are on the second floor, up a long flight of stairs, so carrying luggage in and out is not particularly easy. We will be back next year.

We have visited the Consulate several times over the last few years. The staff there is simply awesome. Always friendly and helpful. The suites are always clean and well supplied with utensils and other incidental supplies. The Consul and the Ambassador are both two bedroom with a full kitchen. These suites are on the front, have a second story patio and look east out over the Apalachicola river.

Lots of restaurants and bars all within walking distance.

We will definitely be back. This is the place if you’re looking to get really laid back.

We stayed a week in the Attache Suite. Very well appointed, great location for walking the town and getting to restaurants. Two negatives: no maid service and very sketchy internet. Otherwise the Consulate Suites are a great choice, especially for people who are staying more than one or two nights. Fully equipped kitchen, laundry room are nice to have.
