Our room had a balcony with a view of the park and the lake. We had a very comfortable bed and the room was very cozy. Gas fireplace and comfy chairs and couch. We knew the main road was between our hotel and the lake so expected to hear traffic on the balcony and were fine with it. The room was very clean and nicely decorated.

My wife and I recently had the misfortune of trying to check into this hotel. After driving five hours from northern Maine and then fighting bumper-to-bumper traffic in Meredith, New Hampshire, we arrived at an empty lobby and a deserted check-in desk. A sign said, “To check in, call this number.” Fortunately, a human being picked up my call and told me to drive or walk four blocks to another hotel at the edge of town. I wasn’t about to drive, because I didn’t want to give up our precious, hard-earned parking place. Leaving our luggage in the car, we braved the tropical heat and humidity and snaked our way to a distant and poorly marked central check-in desk at one of the four, lake front hotels owned by the same Rhode Island based corporation. The overworked agent told us that she was the only person handling the check in for all four hotels. This is what happens when distant “hospitality” corporations take over small town operations and cut 75% of the staff. If this is hospitality, ketchup is a vegetable. |On the plus side, our room was large, the bed was comfortable, and the housekeeping staff was excellent. I can single out Dilly who came all the way from Bulgaria. One caveat: The hunt for dinner is Darwinian (at least in August). If you want to eat before 9 pm, make a reservation the day before. |

Stayed in the bridal suite! An incredible room but we had constant beeping from the sink and elevator.
I think pets go there so if you have allergies beware.
You cannot beat the location- cutest town and lake all in immediate walking distance.
Somehow they didn’t give us towels for the room clean but the staff was soooo nice and accommodating the whole time!

Stayed at the Chase House for two nights mid August of 2023. Although our stay was a bit pricey, we found the accomodations were worth the price. We had a very spacious room that overlooked the lake and the main road that runs past the Meridith docks. Although we had concerns about traffic noise, after 7 or 8 at night, we honestly did not hear any traffic whatsoever. We did not use the hotel restaurant because there are so many options that are in a easy walking distance to the Chase House. If you love the lake, we recommend a stay here, you will not be disappointed.

The website, google reviews and google photos are misleading. Here is what I see:

1. A lot of the google review here are giving good ratings for the restaurant or the event place inside Chase House. So, they don’t apply to the staying experience.

2. The google photos has pictures of pool in this location, but when I arrived, I realized in order to get access to pools and hot tubes, I have to drive across a busy road to a different inn. And by the way, they don’t make it easy for people outside Church Landing to use the pool. How ironic!

3. The room has lake view but at the same time facing a very busy road.

4. There is no mattress cover for the mattress. This is the first time I have seen hotel bed like this. They cover the mattress using a very thin sheet.

5. And yes, it is no refundable.

At last, I really wish the company and its website can set the right expectation. I am fine with whatever the business can offer as long as it’s clear and transparent, so the customer can make the right decision!

Comfortable rooms, great window seat view of the Big Lake. Staff very accommodating and friendly. All the comforts of home and plenty of hot coffee. Easy parking . We had lunch at the Lakehouse Grill with also had a beautiful view of the Lake. Our salads were delicious 😋. I really enjoyed the unique flavors of the Shrimp Cob salad. It was fresh and huge. Our companions liked their food choices.

Rating this as a wedding venue and hotel.
To start, it is quite confusing that Mill Falls has a couple different wedding venues in different locations. We booked our wedding thinking that it would be at Church Landing and didn’t realize Chase House was across the street and over. It was not made very clear but I take some blame for not doing more research. You don’t know what you don’t know. By the time I realized the Chase House was not within Church Landing, I had already sent out save the dates and Church Landing was booked for the day our wedding was planned. Understandably I was a bit upset but we decided to just continue on and try to make the best of it. The Chase House is very dated on the inside although from what I understand it was recently renovated. The red carpet is an eye sore, they really need to change up the color scheme, and hire an interior decorator to redo the entire thing. The food and service during the wedding was very good. The event coordinator, Carolyn, was good and on point during the wedding although there was a bit of communication lag leading up to the event. Carolyn was very accommodating and did everything I asked for, she helped make the wedding day go very smoothly. I was extremely surprised of the cost of food/drink after the NH food/beverage tax, service fee, and gratuity fee. I believe all of that added on at least an additional $3,500-4,000. I am sure this is standard for most venues but nonetheless it was shocking. Our DJ was absolutely awful and I partially blame that on the lack of communication between the DJ and venue but I mostly blame the DJ for just not being prepared. The hotel suite we stayed in was very nice although, again, a bit dated for the price. It would also be nice if they offered discounts to guests of weddings when they stay at the venue given they’re guaranteed business. Also a bit ridiculous to charge $7 extra per chair for the clearly nicer style dinner chairs. Mill Falls if you are reading this I would be more than happy to give you ideas as to how to redo the interior of The Chase House.
