A bit too Smokey for me inside when it’s the weekend but that’s to be expected. Machines felt a little tight last time around. Breakfast at the little in house restaurant last visit was not good. Very poor tasting. They substituted items out of stock without telling us and was disappointed. Still had to pay for it all even though most the food was sent back. Usually this is our go to with my parents. Will continue to go back for their anniversary every year. Just caught them on a bad weekend. September 2024. Rooms are great. All the food in the casino is usually very good and fair pricing. Parking is good. Pool and spa area could
Use some clean up and maintenance. Staff is very friendly.

Cactus Petes has gone down hill in recent years. I would say the rooms are decent and deserve a 3 star rating. Granite rooms deserve a 4 star but overall, the buffet is gone! That alone downgrades them to 2 star. Gambling is TIGHT. "meaning they will take ur $$$" 🙂 Breakfast is too expensive for the quality and there food is overall a 3 Star. DO NOT GO TO BARTONS!!! ITS MUCH WORSE.

There has been a few times they just duct taped the elevator back together. 🙁 They still allow smoking in the Casino. 🙁 And the hallways to the rooms, smoking or not all smell like cigarettes. I expect it, but they should put some smell good in this place because it reeks.

Edit: we stayed here again and asked for our amenity fee be waived. The lady at the hotel check in said no, we can’t do that without a picture of the issue so I figured I would just post some of the nastiness on Google instead of getting my money waived and change the review to a 1 star. 🙂

Hello. I recently stayed at Cactus Pete’s and I can’t tell you how disappointed I was.

I haven’t been there for two years so I was expecting it to look different, but different in a good way - not bad. The whole place looked very rundown and very shabby. The elevator to my room was frightening. I’ve attached some pictures. It was dirty, had homemade signs and none of the lights worked when you hit a button. When coming down this morning. I had to hit the one button three or four times to even get it to work. The room didn’t have a safety bar for the door and the curtain in the shower looked very old and smelled strange. I’m praying I don’t get bed bugs. Then when I went
to leave, outside sign lights were not working.

I’m not sure if I’ll stay at Cactus Pete’s again. It was very unsettling. If I didn’t mind driving at night, I probably would’ve left. You’ll notice how early I left.

I did enjoy the slot machines, even though I didn’t win much. Thank you for listening.

Reason I gave a one star is , first my room furniture was in horrible condition. See pictures. Hallway had trash on floor elevator area had light missing and only one elevator working Slot area way Ok . Food was fair but only warm . Seems Penn gaming needs to maybe start some renovations . I do enjoy coming down to Cactus Pete’s but may have to reconsider after my last stay last Sunday

We got stuck in Idaho with some bad weather and decided to stop here. There are multiple hotels in the area but we chose this one due to the pet friendly advertising (I have a service dog but prefer to stay in pet-friendly hotels). Firstly, the staff were incredible. Hands-down the friendliest people on our 2000 + mile trip. It’s a little old, it’s a little outdated, but the beds were comfortable and the rooms were quiet. I only took one star off because the doors on the building across the street where we stayed do not lock. We felt uneasy about this but ultimately had no issues.

10/10 would stay again!

Is Cactus Pete’s on their last leg Ahrgg!? This is the complimentary 2 night room that was given. I guess when it’s free you get what you get but I’ll throw a fit. Along with the complimentary 2 night stay you will also receive complimentary black grime on the tub surface and free of charge you’ll also get a bath along with a shower. If you forgot your toothpaste Cactus Pete’s offers free toothpaste on the walls for expedited use. These upgraded amenities are only offered to PennPlay members so don’t hesitate to sign up and enjoy your bath shower with previous members’ bodily goodies. Not included in the offer is the bleach soak for your finger after wiping the tub. Also don’t forget about your lost bunny! You can find many dust bunnies located in the crack between the elevators.
