This was a great setting for an extended family group. The location to both the gulf and bay( rod n reel pier) was fantastic. Literally sandwiched right between the two -both sides are quick 4 minute walk or 1 minute golf cart ride. We rented out the entire inn. |While the decor was a bit outdated it was comfortable. There were beach towels and linens for guest to use however the kitchen tools could have been a bit more amply stocked. The landscaping and pool are the best part of this location. Beautiful flowering trees, shrubs at every turn.|The pool area is perfect with the fun tiki bar! |This property has multiple stairs so it may not be a great choice if mobility is an issue. |Would definitely stay again!

My short unexpected 3 day stay at the darling skimmer apartment (which is one of the four individual 2 or 3 bedroom units) was so very pleasant . When we walked in it was nice and cool, clean, and the bedrooms had that extra touch to make you feel very tropical and not at all the typical beige or neutral colors you so often see. There where books, games, magazines, puzzles and a few little beach toys for spending time in the apartment. One of the nicest things we used often was our private outdoor patio with covered table, grill and was surrounded by tropical lush landscaped grounds. || It has a small pool shared by the 4 units with several tables, chairs, lounge chairs and a tiki bar along with a dolphin water sprayer and outdoor shower. By the way the pool was very warm but thats because we were there in August, so don't expect a cool refreshing dip during the hot months. || The beach access was about a long block away and it is the most beautiful sugar white beach sand and we only saw about 5 other people at any one time on our beach. || I would recommend staying at the Blue dolphin inn for family fun and it is so quiet on the North end of Anna Maria Island.

We stayed for a week. It was a pretty short walk to a picture perfect beach. It was a short car ride to stores and restaurants. The decor was super cute inside and out! The pool was clean and well kept. Washer and dryer were great to have. At first glance it was very clean, but after looking around not up to my *personal* standards. There were hairs on the bathroom floor etc, the pullout mattress was super thin and not clean. I’m pretty sure it was just a few things the cleaning people have missed. Our toaster broke and we called, they brought a new one a few hours later. ||We did do some cooking there and found it extremely well stocked with kitchen items which were mostly clean. However, the first plate we pulled out was covered with food as if it had been used and then simply placed back in the cupboard. Again, something the cleaners missed. The matching used silverware were in the the drawer. The shower head was oddly low. I’m average height and I had a hard time washing my hair. Just a weird thing they should look into. ||Overall, it was perfect for our family. We’d definitely go back. Anna Maria Island is amazing.

We book the entire unit for my parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary. The restaurant that we booked was about 5 miles away only. Each two units are up and down but are away from each other so every time we want to gather around, we all have to go out (even in the rain) to get to my parents unit. But that's very minor and the grandchildren constantly changed their hang-out areas which was fun for them. There were some repairs that were needed but they immediately rectified it when we informed the management. The kitchens are fully operational complete with pots and pans and utensils. The whole family enjoyed our stay. The grandchildren enjoyed the pool and the nearby beach. Yes, Wi-Fi was available although at times was slow. The only problem we encountered is that the area has weak cell phone signal so it was difficult to make phone calls from the cell phone. However, the cell phone signal is strong at the beach area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we thank the Blue Dolphin Inn owner and management for making our stay wonderful and memorable. We plan to do this again and stay here next time.

We just returned from a family reunion at the Blue Dolphin Inn on Anna Maria Island and we could not have been happier with our accomodations. It was perfect for our reunion.||||Upon arrival our Host, Angie, had everything ready for us and even a cute coffe mug filled with candy with a thank-you note. Angie also called us to make sure we were happy with everything.||||We stayed at the Jacaranda House in the Flamingo Suite a three bedrooms, two baths upstairs unit with a huge wooden, screened deck for kicking your sandy shoes off and relaxing. The suite was so spacious, clean and full of interesting art work. All three bedrooms were very nicely decorated and the beds very comfortable. ||||The master suite had a lovely four postered bed, french doors, wicker and a bathroom with a sky light.||||The second bedroom was decorated with a banana tree theme and as you looked out the window you could see "real" banana trees swaying in the breeze.||||The third bedroom had two twin beds and a beautiful, cool color of ble on the walls with lovely furnishings.||||Our kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and cute dishes to prepare meals. We liked the open kitchen that allowed us to still have conversations with our family.||||The grounds of the inn are spectacular, full of tropical plants and flowers. There were so may little twist and turns around the property that had such interesting and unique items placed so perfecttly for your enjoyment.||||The pool is small but inviting with lots of upscale loungers and even a cute little hand painted tiki hut and stools. All of our family loved sitting out by the pool at night, laughing and telling stories of our past.||||The area the inn is located in is a residential area with beautiful homes with plush, tropical landscaping. We would take a short stroll across the street to Rose Street and there was a little lane that took you down to the beach area of Bean Point, one of the best views on the island. ||||There was also an observation tower above our porch that had sitting for you to look over the island, very pleasant.||||I have been visiting Anna Maria for many years and have stayed at a lot of different places and The Blue Dolphins Inn has to be one of my favorites, we will definately return.||||Thank you Angie for your help in making our reunion a success, lots of precious memories were made.

I have the Skimmer unit for this month. It is a great location, but the accommodations are terrible. This unit has not been updated. The refrigerator has black mildew in the seal and the microwave door has rust on the inside. The furniture is uncomfortable. The bathroom sink has a rubber stopper. The kitchen is minimally outfitted with dollar store accessories and the cheapest of appliances. It is barely functional. I could go on. The unit is old and tired and desperately in need of updating. I would not stay here again or recommend it. If I could give it 0 stars I would.

We had never stayed in this type of "apartment" style housing before and we were completely blown away by the Blue Dolphin. It really is a home away from home. It had great island decor, comfortable furniture, well stocked kitchen, fantastic beds, and large shower in the master bedroom, There was even a gallon of ice cream in the freezer! The beach is about a block away and has the greatest sunsets imaginable. You can almost hear the hiss when the sun sets. Be sure to eat at the Rod and Reel Restaurant.||I have already told many of my friends about this place. It's a wonderful place to relax and get away from it all. And my daughter's cell phones didn't work on the island !!!!!!! Hallalujah

There’s definitely more cons than pros & you are simply paying for the location. ||PRO: • 2 Blocks from Beach |•When it rains like it inevitably will in FL it’s in a higher location so your car won't go underwater.|• Aircondition worked|• Keypad entry so no need to take a key to the beach|||CONS:•When you walk into the Flamingo (Upper floor condo/near the corner of the road intersection) it smells sour & like a house that’s been overrun with children. |• The Flamingo’s living room didn't have window blinds for privacy from street side/neighbors in front. |•Kitchen Table’s Cloth Chairs were filthy|• Master bedroom door to balcony did not close all the way|• Pool had not been cleaned out|||
