Very helpful, friendly people! Great artwork and things to look at, including articles about Henrietta Lacks: donor of first immortalized cell line and the most important cell line in medical research. When I travel to Virginia, to visit family, I often stop here. The staff is always pleasant and greets you with a smile. While you're there check out some of the items they have for sale, such as books, nuts, and crafts. Located next to the visitors center is a discount grocery store that you might be interested in checking out.

Henrietta Lacks Historical Marker copy is up on the walls of the VC. The hostess was very kind and helpful! Hopefully, they will order post cards for Mrs. Lacks and we can see upon our return. Beautiful local art!

Great local stop if you are interested in browsing through tons of brochures and perusing their niche gift shop that’s stocked with some tasty food and beverage items of local interest. Also they have locally written history books and other interesting materials available for purchase, which may be of interest to someone passing through while researching their local genealogy roots.
