This was the worst experience of my life. I traveled from out of town to visit a family member in hospice care, only to end up at a filthy hotel that was completely unprofessional and lacked even the slightest sense of hospitality.

DJ at the front desk and Jan, the supervisor/manager, should not be employed in any position related to customer service. We attempted to speak with Jan for an explanation of what happened, but she refused to hear us out and told us to leave. She also refused to provide a receipt—only giving one after the police were called. Even then, the receipt contained incorrect check-in information.

This hotel had numerous issues, but the worst was cutting off the water without informing guests. A leak occurred in the building, yet I was never notified. While I was in the shower, the water was completely turned off. When I confronted DJ at the front desk, she took no accountability and claimed that customers do not need to be notified about leaks. This is a hotel—cutting off the water supply without informing paying guests is unacceptable.

To make matters worse, the cleanliness of the room was appalling. The bathroom was not cleaned—there was urine on the side of the toilet, hair shavings in the shower, and dirty floors. The comforters were used and unwashed, the refrigerator was filthy, the water smelled like sewage, and the trash cans had not been emptied or cleaned. I even found a ramen noodle container at the bottom of the bed, and the room had a strong moldy odor.

If you work hard for your money, do not waste your time or money here!!

If I could give it zero stars I would. My husband booked this hotel for 2 nights for a work trip (that the kids and I tagged along on) through hotels.com. He checked in and walked right back out. Black dots all over the sheet, musty smelling, obvious water damage to the walls and ceiling, bathroom looks like it has never been cleaned. He asked for a refund and they would only authorize it for the second night since we had technically checked in. Smelled like weed inside and out, not a family friendly place. Loss of $145! Don’t waste your time. Go next door to the Fairfield Inn. It was $10 cheaper a night and actually clean!

Mold, Dust, and Dirt Everywhere—Stay Away! I planned to stay at this hotel for a week with a colleague, but our stay was cut short to just one hour due to horrendous conditions. Mold was everywhere—in the bathroom, around the AC unit, and the room had a strong, foul odor—either from the mold itself or a chemical like a bleach trying to cover it up. The wallpapers were peeling, at least on 10 areas of the room, a clear sign of moisture and mold issues, and there was dust everywhere, and a beautiful big spiderweb right above the bed. My colleague, who has allergies, immediately experienced shortness of breath after just minutes in the room because of the strong odor.

I requested a room change, but the second room was just as bad, if not worse. Dust, cobwebs, broken doors, rusty carpets, and a filthy, outdated elevator completed the picture of neglect. It’s obvious the management doesn’t care about cleanliness or maintenance.

While we were offered a full refund, the condition of the hotel was shocking, and I’m writing this review to warn others. Mold exposure is a serious health risk. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs!

Clean rooms, but need a little care. A refresh for carpet, and a few amenities (like soap 🧼 dish in shower or body wash) would help. Close (walking🚶‍♂️distance) to strip mall, grocery, and restaurants. Good value if you're traveling 58 🚗 and need a respite 🛌 for the night 🌙 !

Positive: I did not like ANYTHING about this hotel. It was completely unacceptable. Negative: It was terrible, dirty and worn. When we parked our car at the front door there was an Hispanic leaning on the hood of his car drinking a six pack of beer. Once we got to our room a group of Hispanics were hooping hollering in the parking lot.

Just wanted to put a few things out there for this property in general just to let everyone know just how the owner of this location really is. The owner of this property is a local owner here in South Boston Va. I managed this property for a few years for him until I found out how he really is and what he cares about. The owner of this property spends every dollar he brings in in profits to buy new cars and have the best of the best for his family. He will not pay the bills that are past due like the irs so our taxes are able to be delivered to us like we are supposed to be. We are still waiting on our taxes from last year for us to receive because the irs says that it’s past due for the business and they can’t release our money until bills are paid. Even though I do not manage the property anymore phone calls and emails still come into me with problems that are still going on. Choice is on the verge of pulling the choice name from this property because the up keep is not being made. He spends money on vacations cars and having the best in life than to put the money back into the business. Also the staff that works for him goes over and above for him and try to make sure he is worried free and to only get paid minimum wage. He has his family and friends on payroll and says payroll is to high for anyone to get a raise. Maybe if he took his family and friends off that don’t actually work at the property he could afford to pay the staff more. He rents rooms out of one property and sends them to his other property and they are not getting what they paid for. Also when big companies come in and rent rooms out if they are not staying in the rooms he will rerent the rooms out why they are already rented. This man is a money hungry man and could care less about the American people that helped him get where he is today in life. If it want for the American people he wouldn’t have anything. Hopefully this will reach the people who will see this and decide to spend the money at a different property. The beds he has in the property as well are from a rundown hotel that we picked up and had been stacked up outside for a few weeks In the rain and wet and dirty. The smell of the rooms are coming from the beds that never dried out.. if you are going to pay that kind of money for a room I would stay at the Fairfield right down the road.

For what it is it's a fine hotel. If you're staying in this area, expectations should be adjusted accordingly.

Room was ok. Bed was comfortable. AC was cranking so that's a big positive. The tile floors were a little dirty. Internet was decent. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was typical but the meats were a bit better than average with good thick bacon.

Grills outside with the gazebo. Seems like this is a place for a lot of workers staying in the area. Seemed safe.

Me and my family stayed in a suite. The room was a bit small to be suite but the bed bed was big and it also h ad a pull out couch. I'm allergic to dogs and the room had pet hair I. It. They also had roach traps in the room and there were signs that the room hadn't been cleaned. You could tell because there was still toothpaste in the sink and the room had leftover grocery bags on the counter. We had no choice but to stay there because the storm knocked out our electricity and all the other hotels were all booked up. I will never stY there again!
