Booking at Ashworth by the Sea was easy and flawless.
Gerry was extremely helpful both on the phone and in person. He did everything he could to make the experience wonderful. His attention to detail and making my friend and I totally comfortable and happy is highly commended.
We appreciated him and he always greeted us with a smile and by name when we came in. He made us feel like family!

Davey was also a great help. Upon arrival we found that our heat did not work properly and when we went down to the front desk to let Gerry know, Davey was there and came right up to look at the issue. The heater needed replacing and he took care of it immediately. He also was very friendly and accomodating .
Both Gerry and Davey I feel are an asset to the Ashworth. Please give them our heartfelt thanks.

Came for a baby shower taking place here this past weekend and booked a room at the hotel for the convenience. Wish I had not. First of all, I'm wondering if they record calls because around 11:30AM on Saturday 4/5 we called and spoke with Jerry when we arrived in town for the shower, explaining we were checking in later and asked if there was parking available for guests of the hotel. He said the hotel does valet parking. My husband asked if there's an additional charge for the valet to which Jerry clear as day responded "the price is built into the cost of the room". I had already paid in full a week prior so I thought, great we will utilize that.

Flash forward to the day after checkout (today), I see a charge from the hotel pending in my account. I called to inquire and got Jerry again who told me it was the valet charge. I said, "oh I'm surprised, you told us that was built into the cost of the room that we had prepaid." Jerry then proceeded to audibly laugh and say, "oh no we wouldn't have told you that. That was probably booking.com who told you that". I said no it was not, it was actually you on Saturday. He repeated that the valet charge is always separate. I hung up at that point because it is not worth the battle. I didn't mind the fee and would have paid it anyway, it was the dishonesty that's upsetting.

Aside from the lying and gaslighting attempt from Jerry, the location is obviously great but that's about it. Floor was visibly dirty with actual dirt and what looked like grains of rice? Bed was very saggy and uncomfortable with lint/debris everywhere. All the furniture has dings and scratches and looked like it was falling apart. One of the towels had an obvious old blood stain. Definitely not worth the price especially this time of year when the beach is unusable. I'll never stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

The room was very clean, everything was very convenient and accessible to the quaint little town. The bartenders Connor and Eric were very friendly and more than willing to make sure everything was perfect!|Talked with Gerry and Rita when making the reservation and they couldn’t have been nicer, and meeting both of them was a pleasure too! Can’t wait to return for more ocean and concerts!!!

We recently stayed as part of a birthday celebration for my daughter. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. We were warmly greeted by Ron at the front desk who insured that our check-in went smoothly. He went above and beyond to make sure that everyone would have a great stay! The room was perfect and views of the ocean, spectacular! Highly recommend this hotel when travel brings you to the Hampton beach area!

My wife and I stayed for a getaway weekend and could not have been happier. The staff is so professional and always happy to help. We have had the good fortune of meeting Ron at the front desk before and he happened to be working this past visit. It is like being welcomed home.||The hotel is perfectly located and is always impeccably clean. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.

I got married and it was spectacular. Could not ask for a more beautiful wedding or bride (she really is something). Everything was incredible. We left the venue (blue ocean cannot recommend it enough) and got back to the hotel expecting to continue the festivities since we had 30-40 people staying at this hotel and it’s a beach hotel in March I’m guessing we are almost all the guests there (my suspicions were correct as you will see). We arrived and were told the bar was actually closing. I said that can’t be right it’s 10:15 and the bar is open till midnight. I was then told that the bartenders didn’t even know there was a hotel block staying there. All of this while discussing with the coordinator to stay open late (please keep in mind that this isn’t even late the bar is closing early). I’m not sure if whoever reading this is aware but brides are wound up a little tight on the biggest day of their lives. Now I have to try and coordinate 35 Irish Catholic guests who are all itching for a cold beer, and locate a cold beer for them. That’s the coordinators job everyone. It was a joke. The hotel had 7 other guests in the entire hotel. I cannot recommend strongly enough going elsewhere if you are booking a hotel block. It was a miserable experience all around and I’m genuinely mad about how we were treated. This hotel has nothing to offer you don’t forget it

Gerry was so helpful and friendly at the front desk. He helped us with getting a second night All pleasant staff at the hotel and restaurants. Clean rooms. Pool was great. Restaurant and cafe had great food. Games for kids to play. Hotel is right across the street from the beach. Will definitely stay again.

My wife and I stayed at the Ashworth by the Sea for one night in April 2025. Our main reason for staying was that a family member was having a baby shower. Our experience was uneven.

We called shortly before arrival to inquire about parking and we were told parking was valet only and it was built into the price. The staff was pleasant enough. We dropped our keys off and went to the baby shower for a few hours. All the staff involved with the shower were very polite. We had no issues there.

After the shower, we checked into our room. Upon entry, the room appeared fine. It was plenty spacious with lots of storage (not that we needed it), and we had an ocean view, which was great because we did not ask for this. The bathroom was big with granite countertops and two sinks. Living room was uneventful with a decent enough modern smart tv and a couch.

After that, it falls apart a bit. The floor was clearly not cleaned well. Walking around with bare feet, you could feel bits of dirt on the floor. It did not feel like it was vacuumed or swept before we arrived.

The sheets were similarly not clean. It felt like the sheets were dropped on the floor or something before being put on the bed. You could feel miniscule bits of debris while sleeping in the sheets. The couch was similarly not clean either. It just felt like the type of thing that would never fly at a Marriot.

The shower was okay. The actual shower stall is half open into the rest of the bathroom, which is odd. It did have nice dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. A nice touch. But then one of the bath towels had a big old stain, possibly blood.

We checked out at 11 and went on our way. The day after checkout, we saw a charge for $27 on our bank account. After inquiring about it, we found it was for the valet, which we were told was built into the price of the stay (see second paragraph). This resulted in an argument between my wife and one of the employees of the hotel, Jerry, who claimed he never said that and no one would ever say that there. And then said we must have heard that through Booking.com, which doesn't make sense for a hundred different reasons.

Valet issue aside, there are plenty of other problems that would make me try another hotel before visiting the Ashworth again.
