This hotel is stunning, well-appointed and has such a rich history. Nestled right along the river, there is a beautiful park, sculpture garden and LaCrosse is a hidden gem for the arts - check out the shows in town and book a night at Charmant after you go. Rooms are lovely, beds comfortable, everything is clean and it was the biggest shower we had seen. The lobby coffee area has a fireplace and games for kids to play, and we loved everything about our stay. Met the owner, who exudes joy and kindness, and you can tell he puts love and passion into making the Charmant great. Employees are professional, helpful and the best I have seen having traveled for work for many years. Book a stay here, just 2 hours from the Twin Cities Metro, and enjoy the beautiful scenery and things LaCrose has to offer...from a bougie, beautiful hotel!

We love the Charmant. It is such a beautiful hotel and in a great location. You can walk to all the downtown bars, restaurants and shops. And it's right along the river walk if the weather is nice enough. The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. The bar area is always lively. Can't wait to stay here again.

Enjoyed a wonderful evening at The Charmant restaurant. Food was AMAZING and DELICIOUS cocktails. Staff was beyond PHENOMENAL from the cute valet, Noah to our server, Michade, and of course the man himself, Don. Thanks for the incredible hospitality! You really made us out of towners feel very welcomed in your city! Thanks Don!

A charming hotel. The hotel has been beautifully restored into a hotel while leaving character from the former use as a candy factory. The hotel has a friendly, helpful staff. There is a terrific bar and restaurant onsite also! The free Stash program gives you the best rate also, highly recommend registering for it.

Charming Hotel but the King Jr Suite Mattress needs immediate replacement. |It is horribly sucken in and uncomfortable!! {4th floor.)|| The water view is lovely and the wondows were clean.| The $1 token is nice for a free hot tea. The drip coffee maker and Anniversary chocolates were sweet in the room. |Thank you for making notes from my previous email and preparing for our arrival. ||The first King Salle had 2 maintenence issues that men were not able to resolve quickly. |The only upgrade left was the Jr Suite. It was a large room, nice tub. bath salts given, and expensive for a very worn mattress/Beautyrest. I am in bed for 10 hours to sleep, so new and firm is needed for my back. ||No shuttle service was available in the blistering cold, |as the shutlle car in the shop with a tire issue.|| If you ask anyone that works at the charmant for something -they will respond,| but you WILL NEED TO ASK for what you want and see what they say.||We left 1 night early because we did not find the $$ value to be there. ||A different guest said that her 2 queen mattresses felt brand new, so mabey |The Charmant rotates the cost of new mattresses over the years, in their 60+ rooms.

Great place to stay! The hotel keeps so much of its original charm and appeal with being a converted Candy Factory. Our room #412 had an incredible view overlooking the Mississippi River and Riverside Park. I can only imagine the view at Christmas time with the Rotary Lights. The use of robes in the room was a great addition to go with the deep soaking Claw Foot tub, which my wife greatly enjoyed. I only wish we had more time to take in more of what the Charmant had to offer. Just means we will be again!

I reserved a king river-view room for my partner and I. I was a little surprised at the small size of the room -- it felt cramped, but tolerable. The bed was comfortable, but I did not like the duvet. Much too thin and too short on the bed. I prefer a big fluffy comforter and was cold. There were no plugs on one side of the bed and my partner had to charge his phone across the room. I was thankful to have brought an extension cord with multiple device plugs for my side, so I could charge my phone, ipod, and tablet at the same time. The refrigerator made a very annoying rattling sound, and we had to unplug it. The shower had this huge space, but most of it went unused. It had the teeniest little ledge for toiletries I'd ever seen, plus no where to put my foot to shave my legs. I had to bend in half, which is hard for me due to a back injury. Also, would have preferred liquid hand soap to the more wasteful soap bars. Appreciated the refillable shower toiletries vs the bottles, even though I'd brought my own. The hallway noise was a bit disruptive. Overall, staff were friendly and efficient (except the coffee shop staff who were a bit gruff), the location is great (except for 2 hr parking), and the vibe was nice. While I'd stay here again, I wouldn't say my expectations were met, and the price was somewhat high for the quality of the room.

Really an exceptional hotel. Hits all the marks for me - very warm and friendly boutique environment in an old chocolate factory building. Room was impeccable - clean and well laid out, great shower, comfortable bed. Food at the restaurant and breakfast in the room was spot on. Just an overall great experience. The property must be well managed because there was a consistency of excellence in every touch point. Oh, and dog friendly -- our basset hound loved it (thanks to the frequent treats she got at the front desk). Nice location on the river and near downtown restaurants as well.
