Upon arrival, the house was in good condition from a cleaning aspect, but there were half a dozen maintenance issues throughout the house. Most issues were minor and had minimal effect on our stay at the house, but nonetheless, when you are paying to stay at an establishment your expectations are that everything would be in working order. Having worked in property management as a maintenance manager for over 15 years, you would expect a thorough walk-through and turn punch-list to be completed before your next occupant. Regardless, my issue with the maintenance items could be overlooked and thought of as a lack of attention to detail by their maintenance staff, whatever. Our group that stayed at the property enjoyed ourselves and had a great weekend.

We checked out on Sunday and after returning home I received a call from a woman, of whom I don’t know her name, as she did not introduce herself and she just started to ask about a review that was posted about the rental. I was confused as to what she was talking about, as I did not leave a review. She proceeded to call me a liar as I frantically tried to look up the resort on my phone to see what review she was talking about. Unknown to me, one of my friends that also stayed at the resort had posted a less than desirable review about the rental, citing the multiple maintenance issues we encountered during our stay. As I tried to explain this on the phone to the women, she continued to talk loudly over the phone without letting me speak, calling me a liar and telling me how I would be charged extra fees if the Google review was not taken down. Before anything was resolved over the phone, she hung up on me. I contacted my friend, who tried to reach out to the women, but no answer was received on the phone. I also tried to call the number back and there was no answer. I’m a fair and honest person. I would have gladly had a conversation on the phone with a business owner that wanted to discuss a review of their business, I get it. But to be called, screamed at over the phone, and threatened to be charged for something that I didn’t even do, without even knowing who is on the other end of the phone, that is just disrespectful and poor business ethics. I can best describe my experience as a great weekend that was turned bitter by a rude and disrespectful woman, who acted like an upset child on the phone, over a review that was posted by someone other than me. That being said, I would not return to this or any other one of their rental properties.

Also, no surprise here, I got a request for additional payment for having a "huge party" with "tents everywhere outside". We had one tent outside that one of the guests setup because he didn't want to sleep in the wobbly bunk bed that would barely hold an adult safely, and no "huge party". I guess the threats of being charged extra by the woman on the phone were true....
