I took a friend for afternoon tea as I have been there before and even had my daughter’s baby shower there. Both previous experiences were very nice. Today was a disappointment. We ordered the Duchess tea service at $38/person. We each had a tea cup sized portion of beef stew and shared a tiered tray of a bun filled with curried potatoes, a small open-faced sandwich and a three bite salad served in a cupcake liner. One scone each and a sweet tier of two macaron, two thimbles of ice cream and a couple of stale petit fours, per person. There was also one tiny cake of some sort, which my friend ate and said it was “ok.” The food I have had with previous experiences was much better and more aligned with a true afternoon tea. It was explained that each tea included two small pots of tea, per person but, if we didn’t want to drink both pots there, we could take home a sachet of leaves. We opted for this and realized, after the fact, that we were charged an additional $4.95, for each sachet. Service was fine and the Inn is charming and lovely. This experience was disappointing and we won’t be returning.

Went to a murder mystery at Silver Fountain Inn. It was such a fun night! I went with my son and Daughter in Law. It was so fun planning our costumes and solving a mystery with them. The food was amazing! The staff was very accommodating. I will defiantly go back and do another mystery.

We went for Alice in Wonderland theme tea and were disappointed with food and overall experience. After visiting several times in the past for tea and murder mysteries, we decided to try this time for a birthday, and it was our first time since the new ownership took over. We were sat at a table for 6 and then asked to move our seating arrangement to accommodate for walkway room midway through. The food this time was the worst I've had here. Overall strange combination of flavors and scones tasted stale. Gaspacho soup was not good either, but that was more personal preference as I wouldn't have ordered this anyway. For the price, the food was definitely not up to par. Disappointing, especially since it was for a special occasion and had been such a positive experience in the past.

I have previously had a great experience here, however this time was not the same. We went for Alice in wonderland theme tea party. We ordered two dutchess, two hibiscus, and a bumblebee. The food was all combined on to one platter for 5 people, which made it seem like way less food and led to confusion on who’s was who’s. Maybe it was actually a very little amount of food for the price. I also got a hair in the mashed potato frosting. The cherry on top was that we were asked to move our seats after getting settled in and ordering. Just expected better.

The Silver Fountain Inn was truly a wonderful surprise. Kim our host really knows what that word means. Breakfast was excellent. I am a tea drinker and having so many choices of teas was a gift each morning. My only regret - family obligations - we did not get to attend one of the High teas.

As I sit here sipping the delicious tea I bought during my stay, I am transported back to the darling tea parlor at this home. WOW is all I can say - everything from the friendly owner and tea parlor/ breakfast connoisseur, to the attention to detail, aromatic teas and delectable breakfast that stuffed us for the whole day, this stay EXCEEDED my expectations in every way. The home is magnificent, cosy and has a good vibration. Totally loved it and will return! Perfect for a girls trip or a romantic couples trip - also for any other occasion or event.

Beautiful Historic Bed and Breakfast in the heart of downtown Dover, NH. Walkable to eateries, breweries, and shopping. The rooms were beautiful, the breakfast sensational (the scones are out of this world!), and the hospitality was so welcoming. I would highly recommend a stay!
