Shoup Bay is central in Valdez Arm. My wife and I anchor in Shoup Bay and stay on our boat overnight so we are near our fishing grounds. If we have quests we rent out McAllister Cabin to accommodate them. It is very comfortable and has a scenic quality of its location. There is a stream that runs alongside the cabin that lulls one to sleep at night. In August, there are ripened salmonberries near the cabin, it is a treat on cereal. The oil drip-stove heats the cabin nicely, make sure and bring enough fuel. A list of items is on the cabin rental site. There is a steep drop off just offshore of the cabin when anchoring a boat, one must be careful to set the anchor securely or you may find your boat adrift.
