Booked Glacier express on dock & got Archie as our driver both ways - sensational knowledgeable tlingit man - who gave a great commentary both ways.

Ticket of $90pp was high for 30min drive each way, allowing 2hrs at the lake. Ticket price incl park entry - I think $5pp.

The glacier & water fall were amazing. Salmon running. Saw a porcupine up a tree. Sadly no bears.

We arrived at 2:30 ish on the Carnival Miracle. We took the shuttle by the dock downtown. They have little huts with excursions. We had 5 people in our party.
The bus driver had great jokes but he said he was giving is an extra 15 minutes at Mendenhall Glacier as he had to help another bus run gusts back into town. Well lucky we made it back in the hours time because there was no extra 15 minutes. 😱🥶 For the price we paid for this excursion at least should have been given more time at this beautiful. glacier. This is just a $maker no thought given to the customer.

Took the city and glacier tour, since they apparently can’t take you directly to the glacier anymore? (As of July 4, 2023) Not sure if that’s the truth or just a way to force you to take the longer bus/pricier option.

I could have done without the stop at Homestead park. It was nice to see the whale statue quickly at Overstreet park.

You have plenty of time at the glacier, around 1.5hrs. There are some nice views and the waterfall is fun to visit. Maybe not worth $60/65 per person if you’re on a cruise that visits the glaciers.

The price was ok. It's basically an uber bus with dad jokes thrown in by the bus driver. You get some time to walk around the glacier park. Double check the time because the driver is a little old and may have mentioned a few different times to be back at the bus.

Whoever our driver was was fantastic! I’m terrible with names but he’s the one who used to be a touring country singer. Very nice loosely guided tour full of jokes and safe driving as he took us from the ports of Juneau to the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center and back.
We were able to talk the salesman selling tickets down to $60 per person. Don’t be afraid to tell them the price is steep. I don’t know how I would’ve gotten there otherwise.

Horrible experience with the bus getting back from the Glacier. The blue bus company seems to have only 2 buses, which cause issues from 4 pm on. The pick up spot is the same as another company, so there was chaos when the bus pulled up. No way to form lines, and one tiny overhead to keep the rain out for both companies . There was pushing, shoving, cutting in front of others waiting, lack of a proper count onto the bus ,so it was way too full. People refused to get out, back into the pouring rain. The other company had a bus every 15 minutes and more than one at a time. My advice? Book with anyone but the blue bus express.

The price was steep for two 20 minute bus ride. It was $79 per person and included a brief tour of Juneau and drop off and pickup at the Mendenhall Glacier.

The tour guide, Benjamin, was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable about Alaska, wildlife, and being in tune with nature. He had some fantastic jokes and great banter.

The bus was just a school bus that has been painted blue. The seats were close together and it was a bit uncomfortable for a taller person.

Overall, the price was too high for the service provided. Benjamin is the only reason for the good review. He is an asset to their team.

Our ship was late and it took forever to get off the ship. (We booked for 1 hour after our scheduled arrival.) A representative called and they held the bus for us. I was so grateful. Archie was a great guide and shared a so much information about Juneau. We had an amazing time. The weather was very wet, but comfortable.
