I had the pleasure of staying 1-night at the Sunny Willow B&B and really enjoyed the experience. |I traveled to Kotzebue for work earlier this month and was referred to Joe to charter a boat to a location on the Noatak River (Joe is a great boat captain by-the-way). When Joe found out that I would need to over-night in Kotzebue he offered that I stay at his Sunny Willow B&B, so I took him up on it. It's a great alternative to the hotel.|The house is clean, well-appointed and very comfortable. When I arrived, Joe met me at the airport and brought me to the house. The house is also centrally located in Kotzebue and an easy walk all over town. There were 2 other guests staying at the B&B the night I was there and before we went to our rooms for the evening, we all got to know each other and had a great conversation around Joe's dinner table. |All in all, I had a great stay at the Sunny Willow B&B and would recommend it to anyone that is spending time in Kotzebue.

We came to take Bush flights to the five area national park service locations-- Kobuk, Gates, Noatak, Cape K, and Bering L.B. Therefore, this was a great base camp and way to meet other visitors to this small community on the west coast of Alaska! Joe was a great and accommodating host. His two daughters were visiting for a month and gave him great assistance. Keeping in mind that there's not a whole lot in Kotzebue, you are within walking distance of three small restaurants-- all great places to eat. You can even walk to the airport where the bush pilots fly out to the parks for "us parkies", and for the hunters.||||Small but comfortable rooms, and very clean. Joe keeps a nice house. One should note that since COVID, he is no longer providing meals, but there are a couple grocery stores in town, and you can use his refrigerator as well as his well stocked kitchen.||||We would go back, should we come to this beautiful part of the world again.

The owner was very welcoming and a great host. A co-worker and I travelled to the area for work and were glad to return in the evening and be able to relax. Joe provided all the amenities of home and was very respectful of our space. The bathrooms and entire house were clean and the beds were comfortable. He even had great blackout curtains in the room to help us sleep through the extended daylight hours. The sitting area in the living room was comfortable and a great place to unwind. Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at Joe's after a 3 week epic adventure into the Brooks Range paddling the Noatak and backpacking in the Brooks Range. ||Joe's place was the perfect reentry for us after being in the wilderness with ZERO evidence of any human for 3 weeks. ||Joe's 2 rooms and shared bathroom were the perfect place for us to reenter society. His house is decorated with Alaskan items that felt perfect in our transition. We were able to visit with Joe a few times and really enjoyed sharing stories with him. It's a place we would for sure stay again.||Thanks Joe for your hospitality!

This is a perfect spot to stay in Kotzebue. Joe is an excellent host and very friendly and accomodating. The house and rooms are very clean and comfortable and Joe will go out of his way make sure you have a great time. This is a much friendlier and comfortable alternative to the hotel and Joe will answer your many questions about life in this interesting but isolated region. You will not regret staying here.

Stayed at Sunny Willow B&B for 2 nights with 3 buddies. Joe is a great host. Very welcoming. We all felt at home coming and going. He kept the frig stocked and we were free to make our own breakfast. Not sure when I’ll get back to Kotzebue, but when I do I’ll see if there’s availability at Sunny Willow.

Besides being CLEAN the past reviews was ON POINT! I truly love the hospitality and comfort too, but the bed was the same kind of tempura-pedic type bed at home! And Joe made some creamy tasty soup that set the mood. I thank GOD for having a spot like this available! The BIG Hotel in town just lost a customer! ? And finally, I met a new friend.
