I’ve been on several backcountry trips w/ AAA and I cannot say enough great things about their entire operation. They handle complex logistics gracefully and pay attention to every detail, and importantly, the staff and guides make you feel safe in wild environments and are always fun to be around. I’d give ten stars here if I could and I can’t wait to do another trip with them in the future.
I always learn so much and leave feeling happy
Thx AAA for an awesome trip to Lake Clark and Katmai this summer

I don't often post reviews, but I had an amazing trip with AAA. Our guides Michael and Tim were very knowledgeable and helped make the trip unforgettable. The trip to the Twin Lakes was a great way to see part of the vast Lake Clark National Park and explore the beauty of Alaska.

I thoroughly enjoyed two back to back, sequential trips with AAA in 2018, both basecamp/day hiking adventures. The first was to Backside Lake in Denali and the second to Turquoise Lake in Lake Clark NP. Both were spectacular, creating so many lasting memories. AAA does a magnificent job in choosing locations, managing logistics and safety and acknowledging the need for flexibility in Alaska where there may be no such thing as a "plan." Their expertise as an organization and the guides themselves were both terrific and professional. Above all, we had a lot of fun! That's the idea, eh?!
Go with AAA. You will be happy.

Highly recommend Alaska Alpine Adventures and their capable guides. From early trip planning through final execution communication was excellent. Due to weather conditions AAA remained flexible and customized our trip for a memorable experience. Our guides were professional and unflappable making life in the backwoods comfortable and awesome.

We completed a 10 day backpacking expedition with Ian and Rebecca to the Arrigetch Peaks. Both guides were wilderness experienced, knowledgeable, skilled and possessed positive attitudes. Ian always was sensitive to the needs of individuals in the group, making a great leader and exhibiting high-level of empathy and sensitivity with team members’ efforts. Rebecca was a tremendous asset as the co-leader, inherently competent and experienced in all aspects of wilderness issues, making sure that needs of individuals were addressed as issues arose. Becca always exhibited an "up-lifting" and exuberant, dynamic and positive personality accompanied by a superb mindset. Both guides are assets to Alaska Alpine Adventures.

Alaska Alpine Adventures does an absolutely wonderful job in making the application process simple, always providing information as appropriate and always being accessible for answering any question one may have prior to the expedition.

The food provided by Alaska Alpine Adventures along with the daily snacks and the nightly preparation of nourishment by the guides were as good as any served-up in most quality restaurants; or, we were just so tired and fatigued at the end of the day that anything tasted good! -:) No, seriously! Alaska Alpine Adventures does an excellent job in making sure you are well-fed with tasty, high quality food, superbly prepared and served by its guides.

Many thanks to Dan, Ian and Becca for making our trip a memorable wilderness experience that will leave fond memories imprinted indelibly in our minds for the rest of our lives. Thank you both, Ian and Becca. You always are a part of our lives. You always will be in our thoughts. The two of you are so good! God Bless as you move forward in your respective lives.

Best. Vacation. Ever.
We spent a week at Turquoise Lake and every minute was amazing. The guides, Ian, Melissa, and Kai were the best and it was clear they really cared and wanted the experience to be exceptional. They succeeded because the vacation paid for itself by the second day. Then we had five more days of the most amazing hiking, great food, and breathtaking scenery that made us fall in love with Alaska.

They provided thorough information on gear, preparation, and packing before the trip departed. The guides we had (Dominic and Shannon) were truly excellent, creating a great group dynamic and prioritizing safety and communication. Alaska Alpine Adventures is a fantastic option for adventure in the Alaskan backcountry - highly recommend and we already are looking forward to planning another adventure with AAA.

My son and I did the six day backpacking in Denali NP finishing with a night in Talkeetna and it could not have been better. Guides Sara and Kai were both professional and fun and all the logistics were handled perfectly. We'll be back!
