We have ridden our bicycles down the Asbury boardwalk for years, and have always wanted to stay at the Berkeley. Its location and architecture are iconic, as is its history! So We stayed there many nights recently, knowing it’s off season. Of course the pool was closed, as was the restaurant. At least the sports bar was (sometimes) open and usually jumping. The staff was excellent, very helpful in many ways. Our room was worth the amazing views up and down the shore! Walking around the boardwalk is always special. The grand ballrooms are huge and amazing, and while it’s 100 years old, it’s a stunning property.

Comfy beds, great views, super close to the beach and boardwalk. Spacious room and comfy bed. Lilly’s cafe downstairs has a good pork roll sandwich on brioche bread and the coffee drinks are pretty good. I’d say always go with an extra shot of espresso.

Great rooms, have AC set to cool but blowing hot air, got room with friends for a Saturday night. Wrapper and old soap still in bathroom and alarm set for 6AM in Both Rooms absolutely pissed after a night of Asbury Park drinking. Also 300+ a night is a ripoff at any hotel.

I was very impressed by the staff here especially someone at front desk named Josylin. Hope i spelled that correctly. The room i was in looked recently remodeled. Only downside was in the bathroom there was no space to put toiletries like toothpaste cologne etc for 2. Such a huge bathroom should have at least another shelf. But overall i still loved this place. So clean and quiet and many restaurants within walking distance. We will definitely be staying here again.

It was a beautiful hotel but the AC unit wasn't working well in my room and was always in the 80's. Luckily, I had plans so I wasn't in the room for very long.

Worst hotel experience. We wanted to do a short trip to asbury Park. The Berkeley put us on a Pet Floor claiming there were no other rooms available. All the dogs were barking all night. The room next door was out until 2am. Their dog howled and barked non stop. ||The bar at the pool watered down the drinks. $12 for a small cup of cocktail. The pool was murky water. ||The room had an odd smell combination of old carpet and wet dog hair. ||The parking is out in an open gravel lot behind the hotel. No security. We parked in a garage that was suggested by the hotel for $75 a night. The garage was 3 big blocks away. Not very convenient. Not a bargain.||Stay away.

1, they charge $60 per day parking, only $50 off season. 2, they charge a "resort fee" $75 this is NOT A RESORT. Free coffee is part of the fee but you have to find it and it's not kept up with so, you have to buy it from the cafe. Do yourself a favor, stay somewhere else.

I went away with my mom and aunts and had the best weekend! We loved our room. It was clean, spacious, and had the perfect view of the beach. It was in walking distance of so many places, but we loved our stay so much we stayed on property the most. We loved relaxing by the pool and had fun with the DJ there! The staff was kind and accommodating as well. We left wanting to book our next visit!
