We tried this place out because it was within walking distance of our hotel, and the theater we were going to. We weren’t sure if we going to get something to eat or just have drinks so we sat in the bar area. Very cozy and clean. I order a peppermint martini and it was so good I had to have two, tasted just like a Girl Scout thin mint cookie! Eventually we did decide on something small to eat before the show. Coconut shrimp was amazing and my husband said his chicken caesar wrap was delicious we split a house salad and the veggies were fresh and crisp. I would definitely go back if we are in the area again

A little Thurs night dinner at Hector's in Laconia.

Warning!! If using Google maps to find this place, it is a logistical disaster.
Restaurant is located in an area with a lot of one-way streets. The building is also surrounded with do not enter signs from 2 of the 3 access points.
Once we got in the waiter was friendly and attentive.
We were in the mood for pasta.
Started with a Diet Coke and lime. Wife had a Summertime Sangria. It was refreshing!
Ordered Chicken Scallopini, better half ordered Shrimp Mediterranean.

Scallopini was tender and juicy with a light lemon sauce. Served over spaghetti.
It tasted good not the best or worst I ever had.
Shrimp Mediterranean tasted good. Shrimp were a little rubbery.

Finished off with dessert, we ordered mud pie . Consisted of coffee ice cream w chocolate chips inside a chocolate pie crust. Dollup of whipped cream on the side. Good not great had better store bought. Overall okay.
Our Waiter was very good.

After some antique shopping and walking, we stopped in for a light lunch. Service was quick and friendly. Soup and sandwiches were hot and fresh. Food was tasty and not too salty. Overall a pleasant experience for a fairly inexpensive quick lunch.

Travellers, Hector's is a solid dining experience. Everything here was good and the service is with a smile. The restaurant is cheery and it is in downtown Laconia. The corn chowder was good. The Caesar salad was good too. The Italian wedding soup was delicious and so was the fish and chips. We got the sweet potato fries and they were light and crispy. There is also wine and beer on the menu. A nice lunch and worth the stop. Check it out. We recommend.

TLDR -- Solid downtown dining 👍

Our server Jen was fantastic and made my wife and I feel like royalty coming in for supper. The food was exquisite and even Gordon Ramsay would have to agree the dishes are on point. The atmosphere feels clean and modern in the renovated mill building in the old downtown part of Laconia by the river. A+ for everything here!

If you’re looking for a place to ruin your appetite, Hector’s is the perfect choice. The food here is nothing short of an abomination.

To start, the atmosphere was from “fine dining.” The decor was tacky and outdated, with a thick layer of dust on every surface, suggesting a severe lack of cleanliness.

The service was abysmal at best. Our server was inattentive, disappearing for long stretches and showing a complete lack of interest in our table. It took an unacceptable amount of time to place a drink order. When our drinks finally arrived, they were poorly made and tasted like dishwater.

The food was an absolute atrocity. For a restaurant touting itself as "fine dining," the quality was shockingly low. My steak, which I ordered medium-rare, arrived charred on the outside and completely raw in the middle—an impressive feat of incompetence. It was tough, flavorless, and impossible to chew. My partner's seafood pasta was a soggy mess, with overcooked noodles swimming in a watery, tasteless sauce. The shrimp were rubbery and clearly not fresh, likely defrosted minutes before hitting the plate.

The sides were uninspired, tasteless, and clearly reheated from frozen. Even the desserts couldn’t redeem this meal. The cheesecake was dense and dry, more like a brick than a dessert.

Every dish at Hector’s felt like a culinary disaster. To add insult to injury, the prices were outrageous. For the level of quality and service, Hector’s charges a premium that is entirely unjustified. This meal was a blatant rip-off, leaving us feeling swindled and deeply disappointed. The lack of quality, freshness, and basic cooking skills was shocking for a place with such high prices.

Save yourself the disappointment and find a restaurant that actually knows how to prepare a decent meal.

We arrived at shift change. We paid cash to our first bartender who must have pocketed it. The second bartender charged us for both rounds. The manager never apologized and was just a piece of work. She apologized and then was caught rolling her eyes as we left. Go any place other than here!!
