Do. Not. Attend. When someone has to lie to leave a church, that should be your first sign. ( I felt the only way I could leave was to lie and say that God "called me" to go home to save my parents) I always thought it was Carbondale that was suffocating me while attending SIU. It in fact, was not. It was Vine. Demanding I attend Sundays, small group, and serve on multiple teams. They did not give me a choice in the small group I attended once my group got to big. Since I was a girl, I didn't get to lead others. I was only allowed to follow. My every move was watched, questioned, and asked to pray about. I was made to feel guilty about small things. College students, hear me when I say this: STAY. AWAY. I welcome the church to reach out to me and discuss further, however I don't think they will.

I started here when I was a teen, I'm 35 now and I'm grateful everyday for being taught self control in every area of my life and how to have a deep relationship with The Holy Spirit. My vine family will forever be in my heart ♥

Everyone super nice it wasn’t right church setting for me but ungodly complaint about church get your concerns but as believers every church trying get word out at end of day so more people can be saved in confess with lord that’s Jesus died and shed his cross to save you from your sins by repentance of not works but through work of your heart and holy sprit through by grace

Lord Jesus said not perfection nobody perfect maybe vine isn’t perfect but we as Christians or believers are not judge vibe or other church & Ministries 🙏✝️thanks for what lord is doing for you at Vine

I first attended Vine Church a handful of times in 2012 and 2013 before becoming a Christian. After being saved and moving away and returning to Carbondale, IL, I began attending full time in 2018.

The people at Vine are genuine.
Worship music is amazing.
Great diversity in terms of race and age.
Lots of college students.
Love all of the events through the week and months.
If you have kids, there is free childcare for many events and many times meals are provided.

Highly recommended.

I have attended Vine church for several years, after being completely out of the church scene for decades.
Through its teachings and people, I have finally come to love and trust God.
This is a place of tremendous love and grace, where all kinds of people are welcome and encouraged to live godly lives. It has a traditionalist philosophy, but still makes itself relevant to life today.
I love being surrounded by college students, and I am in awe of their commitment to God. The children's programs are amazing, and the worship is inspiring beyond words.
If you have been wounded by churches in the past, I encourage you to check us out and renew/refresh your relationships with God and people who are learning how to become genuine Christians.

From the moment I first entered the Vine, I could feel God's love. I knew it would be my home and that I would grow in faith and in community. Years later, I must say that finding a small group and having close friends that I could be transparent with and share my junk, while they still loved me, has been the best for my walk. It is Christ's love shown through his Church. Before I gave my life to Jesus at the Vine, I cried myself to sleep every night out of deep sorrow. Now, I cry from great joy and having a peace that surpasses all understanding. This church is not a mile wide and an inch deep as some claim, it is genuinely a place where the Holy Spirit is alive and active.

My husband and I had multiple people introduce themselves to us when we first went to the Vine. The next Sunday, 2 of those couples came up and checked back with us and we later ended up in small group with them. Now we are ones going around and meeting new people on Sundays. Sorry if it has not been that experience for all who have visited. 🙁

I loved the Biblical teachings and how the pastors were and are still very transparent during their sermons. They are very real and relate the Bible well to their own experiences that encourage and motivate me. They teach that Christ is the only way. They teach about Grace and also aren't afraid to cling to Biblical truth.

We have an amazing kid's program. I never realized how important and amazing the kid's program was until I became a mother. I am able to leave my child in the care of people I trust so that I can have time to worship and listen to Biblical teaching without the distraction of a child on my lap.

Moved to Carbondale and was searching for a new home church. I visited Vine my first weekend in town, but my first thought was, "It's larger than my former church so I don't know if I will be able to meet people and form true friendships." So, I tried a couple other churches in the area. I tried Vine a second time, and as I got to know people, it didn't feel as large. It felt like a family. Everyone was friendly and seemed genuinely interested in my life. As I started getting to know people and committing more, it felt like home. I have been attending for 6 years and I love it. This church teaches the Bible, plain and simple, with the focus being on Jesus' death for us, His resurrection, and what it means for us. There are many opportunities to get involved and meet others in your age/life circumstance demographic. It is a safe place for all ages, all races, all backgrounds. It is wonderfully diverse. I encourage you to give it a try. Free coffee, too 🙂

Stay as far away from this church as possible! This church may look nice and have so many amenities but, when you become part of the church and attend the small groups, you start to see the facade of the members and the smoke & mirrors of the atmosphere of the church. 💯👍🏽It's called a 'church' but, when you attend, it's more like a cliquish cult-like setting!
Again, Stay Away! 🙅🏾‍♀️🚫🛑
