We had a wonderful time here for our anniversary. We enjoyed wineries and an orchards just miles down the road. The cabin was clean and beautifully situated in the woods while conveniently located on a main road and near local attractions. The hot tub was a nice bonus. The hosts were really accommodating. We recommend this.

What a wonderful oasis in Southern Illinois. GPS took us to just the right location. Owners provided us with keyless access. The cabin is well made, inviting, and clean.

The layout of kitchen and living area make it lovely to cook and be part of the action.

The skylight above the loft, king size bed is a sweet touch. We spent quite a bit of time in the deck and screened in patio. It felt like you were sitting in the trees.

This cabin is just south of Murphysboro, IL off of 127 and is easy to find. Located on the Shawnee Wine Trail. There are two cabins and this cabin can comfortably fit 6 people. ||Entrance: Easy to find, but they could use a light shining on their sign on both sides in the dark. But a big, bold sign that catches your attention when daylight is shining on it. ||Building: Very nice, well kept building and lovely as you walk up. You contact the owners the week you are coming so that you can get the door code as they use a keypad. It is nice so that you do not have to worry about losing a key. |They could use a little more rock as you pull up to the building- but remember that this year there was a lot of rain and over time that rock gets pushed down each and everytime a vehicle pulls up. But the drive itself is nice. ||Building entrance: As you walk in your attention is drawn to the large open living space and kitchen. There's a gas/propane fireplace with TV located over it. ||There is a binder with the rental agreement, hot tub rules/instructions and cleaning instructions. While many may find this intimidating, it's really not. It's essentially cleaning up after yourself which when renting a cabin or house, you should always leave it looking nicer than when you arrived- if at all possible. ||Living room: As stated above, there's fireplace and TV. This is the only TV in the building, but your there to relax and get away. It is dish network with a large assortment of channels. There's plenty of seating in there for everyone and comfortable. ||Kitchen: Everything you need in a kitchen. Full fridge, dishwasher, oven, stovetop, microwave, coffee maker, dishes, silverware, pots/pans, e.t.c. Just bring your own food/ drink or go out. ||Bathroom: There is one full bath and one half that are connected. Full has a tub/ shower combo. ||Downstairs bedroom: queen bed||Loft: queen and king beds with chairs and a couch. ||I recommend bringing your own pillow if you are particular on your pillow type. I always take my own no matter where I go. But there are tons of blankets!!||We went with another couple and loved every moment and cannot wait to visit again. Please ignore the unmade beds in the photos as I almost had forgotten to take them.

The small cabin (#2)needs some major work. Everything is outdated and it just all around needs work. The musty smell is AWFUL and the bed is as hard as a brick. I would not be renting this cabin out. Cabin #1 looks much nicer and has good reviews. I wouldn’t recommend cabin #2 to anyone! The owner was nice to deal with is about the only positive thing I will say about this place. Take my advice and stay in cabin #1 or find something else.

Best cabin in the area! My lady and I drove around in 5 mile radius couldn't find anything close to the quality of Tomcat cabin. When we stayed for only 2 night, it felt like it was our home. Very cozy place . . I much enjoyed it! Best part was our phones didn't work. Oh and the hot tub just puts the cherry on top.

I brought my family here to do the wine trail for my parents' anniversary. Cabin 1 accommodated the six of us easily. There is one bedroom, and a loft area with a bed, futon, and sofa. There is one full bath and a half bath. A washer and dryer are located in the half bath. The kitchen was very well stocked. The hot tub was a nice touch although we did not have time to use it. There is cable tv, but no wifi currently. The location was extremely convenient to the wine trail.

The cabin was nice but the owners are very invasive. They were driving by counting people who were staying over night. I went with a bachelorette party and we had a party bus so we met many other guests who werent staying there to park vehicles and I guess that was not okay. They sent a rude email to the bride about charging extra for that. They also have a very specified list for cleaning. It just seems like they are trying to find any reason possible to charge you extra. It would be less stressful to stay at a hotel.

This place is great. If you need a quiet escape from the city, I highly recommend Tomcat Hill Cabins. We have stayed there a couple of times, once in each cabin and both times we had a wonderful experience.
