Thank you Capt’ Josh for being willing to take us out on a beautiful tour of the bay and inlets, on very short notice! We arrived into Valdez mid-October and most businesses were shut down for the season. Taking a chance, we asked the harbormaster if anyone might take us out and they said call Captain Josh! We saw a humpback whale, seals, otters and bald eagles. He even let us explore a secluded beach!!

My wife and I had a wonderful and productive fishing trip. We harvested halibut, salmon, cod!!? We would like to thank captain Josh for his high level professional piloting and tour guide that made our first Alaska fishing trip a big success. Thanks for his kind assistance throughout the trip. We are new to fishing, Josh provided us with a lots of help! Also we are grateful to Josh's friend Steve who went out onboard with us on this trip for his many kind advices on fishing and for sharing his adventurous traveling experiences.

Excellent day fishing with Josh! Super friendly, knowledgeable about the area’s history and geology, and clued into the good fishing zones. Would highly recommend! Filled the freezer with a variety of fish.

Highly recommend this fishing trip with Capt Josh. His communication was excellent prior to the trip, telling us of the new restriction to catch only one Coho salmon and that numbers were down this year and giving us the option to cancel. We are so pleased we didn't - Josh was knowledgeable and welcoming, the scenery was stunning and the weather was perfect. We tried trolling and casting for salmon and each caught one Coho. We saw sea otters, seals and sea lions along the way, plus a couple of black bears on the river bank so couldn't have been a better trip. Thank you Capt Josh.

What a great experience, having a fishing day with Captain Josh. He makes you feel very comfortable right away. Professional and very knowledgeable, this man works very hard to insure everyone has a great experience, and plenty of fish. I have checked on several charters and I feel Captain Josh is by far the best value. Now that I have gone on his Charter I can assure you it is. I can only give Captain Josh 5 Stars review but deserves at least a couple more! I will be enjoying my fish with my family for months to come.

Jim & I went out today and it was everything we had hoped for. We caught Cod, a Red Rock Fish, Black Rock Sea Bass and Salmon. A couple of Catch n release Halibut. For a total, 48.9 lbs of take home. What a great experience. He was helpful, and patient. Moved us around to numerous spots to make our day successful. We highly recommend Josh as a guide. Great guy

We had a productive and fun day of fishing with Captain Josh. We fished cod at first and then went out to hit salmon. Myself and my two teenage sons went home with a lot of salmon and cod to help fill the freezer. I highly recommend his charter and will definitely be a repeat customer.

It’s worth going with the best! Josh has the stories (and experience) of commercial fishing in the 90s plus the discipline of a former schoolteacher to keep it under control if the lines start going crazy all at once, especially with a big group.

Whether you’re in town for vacation or work getting out for a day with these guys is 100% worth it. Best experience in Valdez.
