I stayed here in fall 2018. Guests should accept that it is in a remote location and the hotel does an excellent job of overcoming the hurdles. I had a gorgeous room that met the family requirements. Great services available and they had a power generation issue at the time and accommodated all guests at arguably the best lodging in Valdez. I wasn't a Heli skier and the business is focuses on those patrons. I don't think they're catering to other adventure communities, regardless my stay was excellent.

My husband and I stayed at the lodge for 3 nights and had a gorgeous view of Worthington glacier out our window. We sprung for a room with 2 beds after reading other reviews and are glad we did. We wished we’d asked for the top floor as sound carried throughout the lodge at all hours, especially the footsteps of the person staying above us. Staff at the front desk and bar were friendly and responsive to one problem we had with the room, which we mentioned in the morning and was addressed before we returned that afternoon. We made use of the laundry facilities, which were nice to have in the middle of our trip.

My wife and I stayed in Tsaina Lodge during our Valdez visit. It is set at the end of a mountain valley along the Richardson highway, about 35 miles from Valdez. The view of the area is gorgeous. A direct view of Worthington Glacier, just 8 miles away, is seen from the lobby, no better setting in the area, and in fact this hotel is the only building around for miles!||||Rooms are small but beds are comfortable, and the Internet worked fine. No TVs in the room. The lounge area had one. You honestly won’t need TV while outside so much, exploring the area. ||||The hotel had some nice add-ons. A free laundry room with modern washers and dryers to use as needed, plus laundry detergent is provided. Unfortunately this room was next door to our room. This added some occasional noise, as did the fact we were on the first floor of a two story building, which causes some footsteps to be heard. I always try to get on top floors of this type hotel for this reason, but no rooms were available.||||Coffee is also gratis in the bar area. The restaurant has good food and the people working at the hotel are friendly and helpful.||||Can’t think there is a better place to stay in the Valdez area than Tsaina Lodge. Unless, of course, you need to stay in the town itself. We didn’t miss that since the drive down to Valdez, via Thompson Pass and Keystone canyon, may be the most spectacular drive in Alaska, if not the world! This made staying at Tsaina Lodge all the more worth it, IMO.

My family and I found this spot after making a last minute decision to take a three-day trip down to Valdez while visiting family in Fairbanks in th summer. Firstly, the lodge could not be in a more beautiful location. Views of the Worthington Glacier from your balcony? Fine by me. Secondly, for only being their second summer open, they nailed it. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were nice. Really convenient having soaps and shampoos at the ready (and they didn’t suck). Staff were excellent, especially the servers in the restaurant. And the food was not bad at all. The breakfast was delicious and drinks were relatively inexpensive. Great beer list and such a comfortable lodge-like feel in the lobby/restaurant area. Highly recommend this spot if you’re taking a trip down to Valdez! Gorgeous drive from Tsaina by the Worthington Glacier, through Thompson Pass then through Keystone Canyon. Spectacular!

A jewel on the middle of nowhere! We came in very late after kitchen was closed but they reopened for us! Very cozy restaurant. And our room was awesome: mattresses were very comfortable, bathroom equipped with modern fixtures, plus unbelievable view from the balcony really made our stay great. We are definitely coming back. ❤❤❤

I must take time to describe our impressions of this most unique Lodge located 35 mi North of Valdez in The Alaska Range of mountains in what is called the Thompson Pass on the Richardson Hwy. Thompson Pass is a 2,805 foot-high gap in the Chugach Mountains northeast of Valdez, Alaska. It is the snowiest place in Alaska in winter. ||Contemporary styled rooms with queen size Tempur-pedic mattress beds, private bath, luxury linens and luxury turkish towels, deluxe duvet, shower amenities, panoramic forest view and high speed wifi.||The Lodge features not only stunning views from our rooms, but offers a full service bar and excellent restaurant, and large rustic fireplace with comfy oversized soft leather sofas and colorful throws to use. Food and service top notch!||ROOMS: Although well appointed, Our room was small with queen size bed filling most of space, mounted on a platform that extends past the mattress. This was a hazard to human shins if not careful when rounding the corner of the bed! The mattress is a Tempur-pedic, very comfortable – good sleeping! Very European in design, with half-glass shower stall, elegant sink & faucets, small glass shelf under mirror. No closets, but small niche with shelf and hangers next to bathroom sink. No chair. Small bedside table with drawers. We used the window sill for our devices. Thankfully we brought a plug extention to use, there were not enough outlets for our chargers. (There may be larger rooms available with seating in them, so you should ask when booking. No mic or fridge, which was expected with a restaurant on site. The staff is young, friendly and helpful at all times, and have small cabins in woods nearby for their use when not on duty.|| In spite of these small inconveniences, we really enjoyed our stay. We were there to visit Valdez and go on Stan Stephens Columbia Glacier cruise (I will review it also) - we had a wonderful time in this area!

This is a very expensive lodge for what you get. The beds are too low to the ground. Hard to stand up from them. There was no closet just a few pegs to hang clothes on and. A shelf for small objects. The two beds were so close together a healthy person would have problem walking between them. There was no phone in the room so if you needed help there was no way to call someone. There was no chair to sit in causing you to sit on the bed.The bathroom was very spacious and had wheelchair access to the room and shower. Handicap parking was in the back of the facility otherwise it was necessary to climb several steps (I don't remember if there was a banister or handrail) to enter the building. The rear parking area had a gravel foundation. Hard for disabled individuals to walk on. Also difficult for wheelchairs or walkers to use. The handicapped room was located at the other end of the lodge. Free laundry was an the added benefit. I believe this is the only hotel in the area on the way to Valdez so they can charge what ever they want. We didn't stay long enough to have much interaction with the staff
