My fiance had a fun work dinner here and has been wanting to bring me, so we stopped by on Christmas Eve Eve around 3:30pm. It was quiet and we were seated in the perfect corner booth. I love how cozy the space was decorated, and the bar is beautiful.

I ordered the mussels and he got the lobster Mac. The mussels were so flavorful, and he was in love with the mac - lobster was well cooked and the pasta is so fun. I would have preferred a thicker cheese sauce but he was happy so I'm happy.

Had a very nice time. Restaurant is very cute inside and out. Parking is whatever works for you, plan ahead if you can - no matter when you're going during the year, Portsmouth is just like that with parking. The bar is nice, too.

If you didn't eat your Thanksgiving Dinner here than you had a horrible one. This was delicious. I feel the price was fair for the meal you received. Our waitress Amy was slammed with customers but yet she was ontop of everything and we were well taken care of. Would do again!

It was my beautiful day, so had lunch out on their dockside tables overlooking the harbor/river. Beautiful view, with canopy overhead so no bright sun on you. Had a lovely arugula salad with shrimp.

Had the best time at the Oar House, celebrating our 33rd anniversary. Bartenders were outstanding, courteous and friendly. Our server Megan, was the best. It was her first night working and she was outstanding. Can’t say enough about the staff. Looking forward to coming back in the summer.

We went with a party of 8 on Friday night. They had no space for us. And were nice enough to accommodate us. The host told us if we didn’t mind waiting an hour so they could find a spot for us and the did. I’m glad we were able to dine here. We were visiting from Florida. First time here, meeting an old high school friend that lives in the area. And we haven’t stopped talking about how good the food was and have literally told everyone we know that this place has by far the best/ freshest oyster I have ever had! And all the food was top notch! Our server was a Honduran guy from Miami, cannot recall his name but he was very awesome and friendly! We stayed until past closing time talking with our group and nobody ever came to kick us out! Will definitely come back when in the area!!! Very cozy/romantic spot. Loved it!!!
