Cool place to grab a quick bite bad great drinks. We ate dinner here, so the sun settled on the other side of the building, making it a very relaxing setting on their outdoor patio.
Food was super fresh but wish their handhelds came with fries or at least chips, rather than coleslaw.
I'm giving the Kitchen 4 stars for up to $16 for a burger that does not come with fries. It's almost a staple.
If you're hanging in Portsmouth, it is also kinda off the beaten path as well.

Excelent food and drinks. The ribs were delicious, the Brussels were crunchy and the honey mustard sauce perfect for dipping. I didn't try the spuds but my family said they were also tasty. The homemade bloody Mary was also on point. Great stop!

Great service! Food was good. The Cuban and the potato wedges were fantastic. I would skip the Caesar wrap and get something on their hot menu next time. My first drink didn’t taste quite right and I was nervous to say something but they are so friendly I mentioned it and they made me a new one that was exactly what I was expecting. Really nice place to stop for an afternoon out!

A cozy local restaurant that offers their unique take on classic American cuisine. They are located in a charming building with plenty of street parking available surrounding the establishment. For nicer weather, there is a side patio with tables shaded with umbrellas and their main dining area.
The selection of food is perfect for lunch or dinner and not overwhelming, plus they have a full bar. They serve plenty of local beer and cider, which is an excellent way to sample what the area has to offer. The majority of the menu is gluten-free, and they do offer gluten-free substitutions for sandwiches and pasta. The real highlight of the meal are their spudsters - mashed potatoes made into little conical shapes with a piping bag, probably frozen, and then deep fried. They have seasonings and sauces to choose from to create endless tasting combinations. Absolutely my new favorite appetizer, and I would come back just for these.
Everyone enjoyed their lunch and we were very happy we decided to stop. We will definitely be by again when in the area.

The Kitchen Portsmouth catered a baby shower for our family. The food was incredible! Everyone raved about the wonderful food. Matt and the rest of the staff were so easy to work with for our event. We had a variety of sandwiches/wraps, several salads, plus chips and beverages. We would highly recommend The Kitchen! (We added the toothpick labels to make selections very clear for everybody.)

A Bit of a mixed bag- The service was a really bad but it seemed they were short staffed, we waited 15 minutes just to be approached about ordering. We ordered everything app entrees and some water. We got our apps but never got our drinks until 20 mins later when we got our entrees. The burger was very unique but delicious. My wife got a salad which she really enjoyed. The food was overall really good but the service was just really bad this day. But we might have caught them on a really bad day.
