The Hay-Adams is truly exceptional! My cousin’s wedding reception here was nothing short of perfection. From the cocktail hour to the dinner and dancing, everything was flawlessly executed. The service was top-notch—attentive, professional, and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious, and the drinks were expertly crafted. The elegant ambiance and breathtaking views made the night even more special. We all had an unforgettable time and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend for any special occasion!

This review is only for the bar and dining room. We were neglected and abandoned from the moment we sat down. When water eventually made it to the table, I took a sip, only to feel a sharp glass shard rolling around on my tongue. As I removed the glass from my mouth for further inspection, I noticed that the rim of my glass was sharply chipped. No waiters were to be seen, but I was finally able to get an employee’s attention about a dozen minutes after the incident. The waiter rudely grabbed the cup from my hand and walked off without saying anything. He returned around ten minutes later and firmly set another glass of water down without saying anything word and was gone in an instant. We had a party of four, and three of us ordered cocktails, which arrived about an hour after we ordered them. The drinks were very overpriced ($30 for an ‘espresso’ martini made with Kahlua and Tito’s vodka with no real espresso), and did not taste good at all. The place was crowded with customers, many of whom were also expressing frustration over the neglect, while waiters were a rare sight. After waiting for another hour after finishing our drinks, I eventually had to get up and walk around to find any waiter to provide us with our check. I found all of the waiters gathered in a back room glued to their phones. For three poor quality drinks, it was nearly $100. All in all, if you enjoy being completely neglected by staff, broken glass in your mouth, low-quality yet high-cost drinks, and unfriendly attitudes, then the Hay-Adams is for you. If you don’t like the aforementioned features, avoidance is best. I will certainly not be returning.

We did not have a room here but a review is called for. The reason?
We attended Thomas More Society Event there last night and the hotel hospitality was faultless. The environment wonderful.
In all I spoke to 9 people in the Foyer and meeting room area and we used their Valet Parking & Tips which is of course expensive. Every single member of staff was a true delight to deal with including all those who enabled parking, the Hungarian Concierge gentleman and Dutch young lady through to the staff serving and hosting the event itself. I am fortunate to have stayed in several hotels of this quality but have never seen so many genuine smiles, such appreciation of humor and such happy team work before.
We expect to update this review with a stay, or at least a dinner there soon.
First impressions could simply not have been better!
If you fancy a special place to stay in D.C. I have to recommend you try this establishment.

This historic enclave across from Lafayette Park in Washington, DC was one of the best hotels that I have ever visited. Arrival and departures were seamless as was the food and beverages. Our rooms were spotless with amenities that were luxurious. The staff was professional, kind, and consistent. We loved this place and have already found another reason to return in a couple of months. Off the Record a quaint bar and grill type of eatery were filled was filled with happy servers and great fare.

The service is exceptional. Each member of the Hey Adam’s treat you like you’re royalty. You’re greeted with a smile upon arrival. The rooms are immaculate and tidy. Someone was nice enough to fold my clothes and leave a nice little box of chocolate. I’ve been to several 5 star hotels and the Hey Adam’s exceeds most of their service. Big hotels like the Ritz, The Waldorfs etc., should absolutely take note. The bar in the basement is a lot of fun. Food is great and their coffee in the rooms are exactly what you need first thing in the morning. Cannot wait to return!

We stayed 4 nights in early November as we toured Washington DC. Selecting a hotel had been difficult, at one point, I had 3 reservations. In the end, I stuck with the Hay-Adams because of its park and stay package, which included a breakfast voucher per day; and valet parking.||We had a king bed bedroom, with no special view. The room was great sized, it had ample storage, 2 chairs and a desk with chair. The bed was very confortable, and linens were of quality. The bathroom was a good sized too, with handy bathrobes that were not bulky (satin on the outside and towel line on the inside). Products were great.|Every night, there was a turn down. The only downside is that we could hear White house protesters if we stayed in during the day. There was a small fridge but we couldn't really put stuff in it as there were things for purchase there.||They do a lot of their facebook and social media publicity on the view of the white house from their rooftop. Over our 4 nights, we had to request 3 times to go up as there were events. So do not expect to have access to the roof if you book a room. It was a bit of bummer for us as the white house's view from the street was also blocked off in anticipation of presidential inauguration in late January.||On 2 days, we had breakfast in our room. It was delicious. They do install a table in your room and you get to enjoy a warm breakfast with strong coffee. It felt very luxurious, we loved it.||The hotel staff is nice, courteous, helpful. We did interact quite a lot of the doormen as they called taxis for us or provided the hotel's car to get us places in the early mornings. It was quite appreciated.||The concierge was quite helpful as well and he did bring us up to the rooftop while chatting about the area and Virginia. Quite a nice man.||So overall, I would recommend the Hay Adams while staying in Washington because of its location, service and room quality.

As a wedding photographer, I highly recommend the Hay Adams Hotel! I found the hotel to be a refreshing change to a lot of others in the area, with the beautiful reception space, elegance from the lobby to the rooms, and the perfect location at the heart of DC. Just look at the view from the reception balcony!

I recently stayed for a few days in January. I love this hotel for its consistently gracious service in addition to the great location, very comfortably appointed rooms, and lovely dining room. My friend and I so appreciated the hot chocolate and warm apple cider that were served in the lobby as we returned each day from our outings in the cold. It's those little touches - and the genuinely thoughtful service of every team member - that keeps me coming back to the Hay Adams whenever I'm in DC.
