What a gem of a hotel! We ended up here because it’s one of the only hotels in the area that allows big dogs with no weight restriction. I have a St. Bernard so a 50 lb. Weight restriction isn’t going to cut it. I was met with such kindness. Everyone was so helpful, the special touches such as popcorn daily and the availability of board games, are so appreciated. We look forward to returning! The only complaint is that the pool wasn’t opened up at 7 AM as advertised. That was a huge selling point for my 6 year old swimmer. I’m hoping next time they can honor the advertised times.

Traveled to Dover ... quick overnight stay for Christmas. Noticeable improvement in overall ambience and amenities from prior year or two. Staff was engaged, friendly and quick to address requests. Kudos to Jayme at the front desk, keeping up with breakfast service, check-in's and everyone's questions.|Although I was there for a short time, I was able to use the gym and the indoor pool. The areas appear small at first glance but were uncrowded and I appreciated having hem available. The pool was a comfortable 82 degrees.|We will definitely stay again when in the Dover area.

Great hotel! Rooms are modern, spacious and clean. Very friendly staff that’s always smiling. Breakfast is solid. Fitness center is small but gets the job done. Will stay here again on my next business trip to the area.

Positive: The hotel is lovely and the staff were great. Negative: We had an accessible room but the distance from the room to the lobby was to far a walk for the one that needed to be in that room. Which meant we had to bring her breakfast to the room for her which got cold on the way back.

didn't use pool, but it was large-ish and looked like kids would enjoy it. Exercise / fitness room was small but functional. Breakfast was basic / not particularly good, but points for having non-cow milk as an option. Room was clean and functional. Biggest complaint is the temperature of the room is hard to control accurately: I set the heat temp to 64 overnight, but woke up hot because the room was more like 70 - ended up switching the mode to cool even on a cold night just to have the room not be so warm. But overall for the price, this place was fine.

This hotel is adorable. The Halloween decorations were outstanding. Room 107 was clean and comfy. Had a large fridge and microwave, although I did not use them. First class toiletries and soap. Plenty of towels and a seat for accessibility in the shower, if needed. The front desk was helpful when looking for take-out nearby. Breakfast smelled wonderful, but I was in a rush so I just grabbed some to go. Pool was clean and plenty big (& deep).

The Garrison hotel turned a brief stopover into a very pleasant experience. Walking into the lobby, we experienced fantastic and fun Halloween decorations, making the hotel very welcoming and fun. All of the staff we encountered were not only friendly, but genuinely interested in our well-being and experience. They were able to accommodate requests and were very informative. I would recommend the Garrison Hotel to anyone stopping over in the Durham area.

The women at the front desk were absolutely wonderful and accommodating. The rooms were well kept and they had complimentary hot beverages 24/7. My only reason for giving 4 stars is how heavily they decorated for Halloween. Some people don't like or want skeletons surrounding them everywhere...even in the pool. I had my son with me and was afraid of the lobby space and entrance, luckily he didn't notice the giant alien and witches head by the pool entrance.
