On the surface, this looks like a nice clean quality place to stay. DO NOT LET THEM LIT YOU IN ROOM 150!! So this room has an adjoining door. This has got to be the thinnest door ever made. There were people next door, not being loud… just normal
Conversation and we could hear everything! It wasn’t worth complaining to the people because they were not doing anything wrong. The Hotel knows this is an issue so they tried to put an armoire in front of the door which did nothing to block the noise. The hotel was full so they weren’t going to move me.

Believe it or not this was a decent place however being put in a room where you can hear everything that’s going on kind of defeats the purpose of a nice quiet clean place to sleep

A pleasant surprise.
Based on the reviews, I was hesitant to book this hotel. I had another reservation at another hotel as a backup, just in case. Fortunately, the room was nice, and construction was over. Like other reviews, I agree the staff is very friendly. Shout out to Scott! The housekeeping needs to look at the fine details when cleaning. Like all the doorknobs and the sheets on the fold out couch. Other than that, the room was clean. It was quiet at night. The shower had a cool rain head that lights up. Green means the temperature is good. Red means it may be too hot. I attached a video. We had some hot breakfast consisting of scrambled eggs and sausages and make your own waffles. We were there for Cal Poly admits weekend. You can walk to the campus from the Sands Inn if you want to. We had to leave a day early instead of 3 nights we stayed for 2. The front desk woman (forgot her name) was able to refund the one night we couldn't stay, which was very nice and motivates me to stay there again. A note to the management, update the toll-free phone number in the reservation email, and add the check-in/ check out times to that same email and website. 3pm /11am. Oh next upgrade is to replace the TV in the bedroom, too small and old. Thanks, see you again in a few months.

Our family loves SLO. We come up here to relax and enjoy the city and nature.

We decided to stay here for the convenience and pricing. However there is NO front desk assistance after hours or alternative assistance. Therefore, be mindful if you want to stay here.

NOISE COMPLAINT

Why? Unfortunately, the room next to us kept playing loud music throughout the entire night which ruined our first night here. I called the front desk and it kept sending me on a loop automate message which was of no help. I texted both the numbers that were on file and neither offered assistance.

The place looks great. The room is clean. But don’t expect to be helped after hours. Consider if you mind this when booking. Hope they find a solution to this problem.

I don't know why there are so many low reviews for this place. I guess people don't like : Clean rooms, lower than normal pricing, FREE BREAKFAST, friendly staff, large parking lot, access to town, makeup wipes, fitness room, suites, pool and Jacuzzi. I love the new renovated rooms, we have stayed here multiple times for days on end and have had only one bad experience, which wasn't the fault of ours or the hotels, it was the builder and we ended up getting comped for the room, so only 5 stars from me.

Stayed here with two little kids just for one night, during winter. This place was good, better than most of the reviews...but not great. Room was clean and had been recently renovated, but you could it was missing attention to detail. For example, there wasn't enough weather stripping under the front door, which meant the room was draft and cold all night. Or another example, someone left a sandwich in the fridge, lol. The service was good and quick. All the appliances worked, it was quiet, and the beds were passable for a 1 night stay.

Very thin walls. You can hear everything in every room. When guest closes a door, sounds like it’s being slammed and the whole walls shake. Image this at 2am & hearing drunk guests . ||Room: we got two queens , one of the beds had a bug in the sheet and a stain, which wasn’t such a great start to a good night sleep. It was late at night so we just used one bed .||Bed: one of the mattress was old and squeaky.||Breakfast was standard and well equipped. Outside seating while having breakfast was good.||If you are a heavy sound sleeper , then you should be fine with this place if you just need a spot to crash for the night. If a good nights sleep is of importance then look for alternative accommodation .

We ended up staying at the Sands because we have a dog. Quality Inn wanted $75.00 for a pet fee so we came to the Sands.
We were greeted by a man named Carlos at the front desk. Let me just say that he is stellar. Carlos was very informative and gave us the rundown of the rates, etc. and we felt welcomed.
The rooms are basic, sheets were clean, and the bed was a comfortable king. The tv remote didn’t work so I walked back over to the front desk. Carlos helped me again and walked back with me to the room and fixed the remote. Great service.
Breakfast was good and have no complaints for what it is.
Anyway, when I come back up to SLO again, I will probably stay at the Sands Inn. It’s good value and location for the money.
Carlos rocks. Hope he’s still there!

Place is rundown...Pool is amazing.The rooms don't like they do in the pictures..No guests allowed.I came this morning to take my friends truck and wash it,Brought her keys back and returned now with her taillights I was going to install but a gentleman said I'd overstayed my welcome to not return...Idk things have really went down hill at this place...If you choose to stay here good luck..
