My entire family of 7 had a blast doing the 30 minute dog sledding tour! Our party involved a 4 year old, teenagers, and grandparents. Every single person enjoyed the experience: from our tour guides being absolutely awesome, to the dogs being super lovable and friendly. They provide with the cold weather gear needed to withstand the winds. They even had sizes for the littlest one. The people were phenomenal, super friendly, and very knowledgeable. I definitively recommend this place!

We used Rod’s twice during our trip to Fairbanks. Once for snow machining and the second time for ice fishing. We spent two amazing hours hitting the trails on snow machines and even got to see an eagle up close on the lake. The ice fishing exceeded all my expectations. We spent the morning in a cozy cabin on the ice, enjoyed reindeer sausage for lunch and got to eat our own catch. Highly recommend Rod’s for your Fairbanks/North Pole excursions.

First impressions are amazing. The whole staff was happy and energetic. They said hi as you walk in, and no one gets ignored. My son and I chose the snowmobiles, but I wish we had also chosen the dog sledding.

They took extra care for my 10 year old to ensure he had all the correct sized gear. We were provided with a very warm coat, pants, gloves, boots, and even a heated helmet! My helmet even had a Go Pro mount on the helmet! I have great footage now.

The snowmobiles are amazing. Heated grips for the driver and the passenger. We stayed almost to warm! Our guide was very friendly and knew exactly how to explain everything. She was very patient, even when she had to get stearn with a few girls not paying attention, hahaha. I was very amazed by the entire experience, and I highly recommend this location.

Everything we did with this company was awesome and made our trip to Fairbanks memorable. Tim was our guide for ice fishing and aurora viewing. He made the experience so much fun. What an amazing way to bring in the new year. ? Will was our guide for snow machining. Joe (?) and Luther were our guides for dog sledding. Everyone we encountered from checking in to getting fitted for our gear to the guides were so friendly and helpful. Thank you for making out trip so much fun!!!

We booked the ice fishing/snow mobile riding/dog sledding package deal and it was great to work with one company for all three. ICE FISHING- Tim was our ice fishing guide and he interacted with each of us as we walked into the warm ice fishing cabin. He baited our lines with shrimp and answered questions about Alaska and the Fairbanks area. When a fish was caught, he assisted getting it off the line and into a bucket. We enjoyed cooked reindeer sausage wraps while fishing and later fresh cooked fish. SNOW MOBILE RIDING - Josh ensured we had our helmets on and practiced two times around the track before taking us out. He was attentive to ensure we were all behind him and he quickly stopped us all so that he could run back to help someone (my husband) out of the snow drift into which he had plowed when missing a turn. He pointed out three moose during our ride (so exciting)…one of which we were able to stop and video because she was back in the trees. She was huge! The lake portion of our second hour when we got to open up full throttle across the lake was a blast! DOG SLEDDING- Emma secured us on the sled and we were off with her team of dogs pulling. She was gracious to answer our questions about being a dog musher and how she got started at age six. We learned about the dogs and how promotions and demotions work on the dog line…and then we learned about how much snow fall is required to sled and how 20 degrees Fahrenheit is HOT for the dogs! All three experiences were top notch with experienced guides. We enjoyed our adventure.

As a seasoned ice fisherman visiting Alaska from the East Coast, I was very impressed! I did the afternoon session in the cabin, where we got to eat our catch along with some reindeer sausage, and even saw a bald eagle on the ice! I helped teach a family from Arizona how to jig and set the hook, and was delighted to see the first timers catching fish. Our guide Trevor was great. An all around great experience, I would highly recommend.

1000% recommend using Rod’s for snowmobiling and dog sledding. For snowmobiling Victoria was our guide and she was amazing! You should ask specifically to have her! For dog sledding/mushing I had Emma and she was also great and learned so much cool information from her! Both made each experience so enjoyable and the time flew by! Hopefully will visit again

My son and I had an all-day snowmobile guided tour with Rodney and Victoria in January. It was so much fun! Just incredible! The tour included breakfast at a local truck stop. Try the Breakfast Burrito...you'll need the energy for the ride. The gear (heated helmets, bunny boots, snow suit, and gloves) kept us warm all day. And the snowmobile had heated handle grips! Rodney led the way and took us to view multiple cabins (for a trip we're planning for next year) and over frozen streams and lakes. On the return to the start/stop point, Rodney allowed us to "open the throttle" a little bit!! FUN!! And you cannot beat the scenery. Alaska is so beautiful and this snowmobile tour, with the knowledge of Rodney and Victoria, shows you many fantastic views of the wilderness of Alaska!
