Stayed at the Residence Inn Portsmouth for a quick, one night stay using my Marriott Bonvoy Points. I did get an alert on my phone very early the day of my check-in (8AM) that my rooms was ready. Although my room was ready, I couldn't check in until later that evening. When I arrived, I was given my keys and provided some basic details about the hotel, breakfast hours, etc. The lobby does have complentary coffee, tea and hot choclate 24 hours a day.||We arrived to our room and it was very clean. There was plenty of ice in the ice maker (which I always choose to dispose of and make new ice). Beds were comfortable. Shower was hot.||We did eat dinner prior to our check-in. There isn't too much nearby and a car would be needed if you were going to explore the area.||In the morning, breakfast was amazing. Fresh scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and some sort of egg dish. There was two waffle makers for waffles, bagels, yogurt and so much more. The breakfast staff was on top of things making sure you had everything you needed.||All in all a great stay!

Excellent customer service! I have stayed at numerous Marriott properties in the USA, and this one stands out for its exceptional service. The front desk staff are incredibly helpful, and it’s refreshing to see every team member greet guests with a smile—something that's becoming rare in many hotels today.

The room was spacious and impeccably clean. The complimentary breakfast was delicious; a special thank you to the chef and kitchen staff for the crispy bacon—fantastic job!

The location in Portsmouth is perfect—quiet and peaceful, with free parking, which is a huge bonus. I highly recommend this property and will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Portsmouth

Impeccable service, pretty decent breakfast, and easy access. Kitchenette was well sized. My only complaint would be the laundry situation, washers were in pretty bad shape. Every interaction I had with any staff was very nice!

Loved this hotel! We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our visit. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The standout at this hotel is the friendly and helpful staff. Everyone we interacted with; the front desk staff, housekeeping and maintenance workers couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. After checking in, we asked how to get to our room and the front desk attendant instructed us to drive around to the back of the hotel so she could meet us and show us which entrance would be the closest and most convenient to our room. Who does that?! We needed a shopping bag for some of our purchases. The hotel doesn’t usually carry these so the general manager went out to his car and gave us one of his personal bags! I can’t say enough good things about the wonderful people who work at this hotel. They made our visit extra special. Thank you!!!!

Hotel appears to be from ‘90’s, lacks design that newer residences have. Rooms were well over $300/night and 15 minutes from downtown. Upon checking out kitchen, I realized the light illuminating stovetop was out (this was the case in last Marriott too) as well as frig light. I was pleased that when I called desk, maintenance came up right away to fix, but doesn’t housekeeping open frig and turn on stove lights to clean? The mattress also was a back breaker. Lastly the bathroom has shower and WC behind door, leaving sink next to bed. I find this poor design, no privacy. Room could’ve also been cleaner-I cleaned up long hairs on bath floor and bed table was full of crumbs. Staff was super nice. All in all, dry poor value and I would not stay here again.

The service needs to improve. Five people there are the reason I come back. Holly, Emily, Cheryl, and I apologizing not knowing the staff that run the breakfast. These are the role models that others should look up to. There maybe others I haven’t gotten to know but every time I stay these are the ones that go the extra mile.

Stellar on every way: loved our room, hotel, breakfast & service. A special mention of Kelly who is the most incredible person from greeting to helpfulness to restaurant recommendations to her sparkling personality. She’s your best ambassador.
