Our party of four took the Denali Summit Flight Tour in late September. We booked the tour a month in advance but on the day of the flight, it was extremely cloudy. We were told that we could fly in 30min to see the conditions closer to the peak and make a decision whether to continue or not. If the conditions weren't good, they mentioned they'll refund the money. Luckily for us, as we flew higher, the clouds cleared up and Mt. Denali was clearly visible. The view of all the mountains and glaciers around with clouds at lower elevation was spectacular and I'm so glad we decided to book this tour. Also, given we were flying close to 20,000 ft, we were provided oxygen masks since the flight was only pressure controlled. The flight itself was extremely smooth unlike what we imagined it to be. Thanks to pilot Riley for our amazing flight and Matt on the ground for giving us clear instructions (its been a month since we flew and I hope I got the names right 🙂 ).
We chose Northern Alaska Tour Company because we wanted to fly straight out of Fairbanks and they were the best option in late September. Overall, those two hours of flight was an experience of a lifetime and I highly recommend this company!

Did the Arctic circle tour with Tim and aurora chasing tour with Cordray and we had the best time ever! Amazing story telling and the way they took care of us was second to none. It was an 18 hour tour and even though it was tiring, they couldn't have done a better job. Strongly recommended.

Booked the Article Circle Fly drive adventure. The bus tour was a torture due to a road conditions of Dalton Highway. Though the over all trip was great. Stay at coldfoot was decent and calm. Our bus guide was great.
-1 because we couldn’t see much northern lights in wiseman.

My two sons and I took the 3 day, 2 night tour to Coldfoot Camp in the Arctic Circle just 5 days ago. It was a great and memorable experience!
Our bus driver heading north was Will. He provided excellent narrative on the history, the pipeline and nature stuff. He was a safe driver on the snow covered Dalton Highway and went out of his way to make us feel comfortable, giving us hot chocolate and candy. We had a 3+ hour delay during the trip north due to a big rig sliding off the highway ahead of us, but that is part of the wilderness adventure!
Declan, our Coldfoot Camp guide was excellent. He also provided informative historical background on the area. Declan was also one of our guides for the Arctic Village Aurora to view the northern lights. He was outstanding. He stopped on the way to the village when one in our van spotted the aurora so we could get some pictures. He cleared some snow for us at the village to make it easier to move around and stand, took pictures of the aurora with us in the foreground, and helped us spot the best of the northern lights! One of the aurora's spanned the entire horizon from east to west!
The staff at Coldfoot Camp were also friendly and helpful.
The flight back in the 9 passenger Piper was smoother than a commercial flight and a great experience as well.

We took the Artic Circle Fly Drive Adventure Southbound on Sept. 4. It was terrific. Our pilot Ethan, was, terrific - pointing out highlights while we enjoyed the beautiful fall colors and relaxed. Landed in Coldfoot, AK along the Dalton Hwy to have lunch at the Coldfoot Trucker's Cafe. (Definitely recommend pre-ordering lunch there.) We had three guides on the ride back along the Dalton Hwy to Fairbanks with several stops. In Coldfoot: the Artic Interagency Visitor Center (there was a wooly mammoth tusk on display - nice!); Greyling Lake - just so pretty; close up of the TransAlaskan pipeline; and the Artic Circle among some. Last, we stopped at a cabin to spend a couple of hours looking for the northern lights. Extremely limited success as it was so cloudy. But all along, the guides made the trip enjoyable and informative. Cadre, our guide looking for the lights, was phenomenal! He helped everyone to understand how to take photos on our phones or digital SLRs, and how to spot the lights (it actually looked like a mist that night). My one strong suggestion to the company: on the bus rides - Have Passengers Switch Seats Between Stops! We ended up being in the very last seat on the vans every time. Very bumpy over the axle & because the Dalton Hwy is bumpy. And it would have been nice to mix up the views a bit.

We joined the tour on September 20, 2024. It was a disappointing experience and not worth the nearly $400 per person.

Bus: The vehicle resembled an old school bus that had been remodeled, with cramped seats. During our stops, we encountered a restroom that was not only out of water but also had a terrible smell—especially surprising given that the company owns the property. While I understand wanting to maintain a certain charm, for the price we paid, I expected cleaner facilities.

We also stopped at Yukon River Camp for lunch, but since we hadn’t pre-ordered, the only options available were instant noodles, banana bread, and chips. For dinner, we returned to the same place, but we had to pay for our pre-ordered meal, which I felt should have been included in the $400 per person price.

Our last stop was the aurora tour. The morning driver dropped us off at the property around 11:45 PM, and neither he nor the second driver/guide provided any information about where we might see the aurora. When we arrived at the cabin, the 2nd driver/guide casually said, "You guys can play cards and be comfortable." I asked her when and where we would see the aurora, and she responded, "I’ll go out and check, or we can stop on the way back." I assumed seeing the aurora was a key part of the tour. While I understand it was cloudy, I would have preferred honesty over vague excuses.

Overall, the trip was exhausting, with bumpy roads, 18 hours tour with a few and short stops, inadequate restroom facilities, no meals provided, and a lack of effort to take us to see the aurora. It was a total waste of money. Do not recommend this tour to anyone.

What an awesome tour and experience. We chose the 3-day land / air tour to the Arctic Ocean: Northbound drive with overnights in Coldfoot and Deadhorse and a return flight from Deadhorse to Fairbanks on day 3. I booked in January for a July tour, and it was quite easy. I booked online as well as spoke to an office staff during the booking process. She was very helpful and accommodating. We stopped in the office the day before our departure to touch base and the office staff was exceptional, helpful and informative. Our guide for the 3-day adventure was very knowledgeable regarding the history and current situation of the Dalton Highway, the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, and the geological terrain of the 496-mile trek. A special highlight was spending the morning in Wiseman with Jack Reakoff, who lives a subsistence-based lifestyle above the Arctic Circle by hunting, trapping, berry picking, and gardening. We encountered a number of numerous wildlife sightings including moose, muskoxen and caribou. If you ever considered visiting the Arctic Circle, Arctic Tundra and Arctic Ocean, this is the company.

Suzanne Bennet is the best. She kept explaining about everything, shared little stories, facts throughout the 18hrs round trip. She even stopped on the way, showed us the northern lights, gave us tips how to better view it.
