We go on the hop on hop off bus in every city we go to and are very happy with them. This one, however, was the exception. Counter staff were not particularly friendly and the bus driver, Evelyn, was really not nice. I didn’t think the route was great and we didn’t get a lot of info. I would not recommend this tour.

Pros- Our Tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, good stops picked for the tour

Cons-many logistical issues: was told they would contact about hotel pickup ahead of time for a pickup time (and never was),the tour includes certain destinations in the route before they open or after they are closed (Graceland is the last part of the tour, so were saving it for the end, only to find out they close at 4), 90 minute gaps between pick up times isn’t very convenient (especially with 9 stops, but only 5 pickup times throughout the day), some places we only really needed 30 minutes, but other places would have been better if we have 2 hours.

I feel like this tour could easily become a 5 star tour if they just ran their routes more frequently, with multiple drivers, like I’ve experienced with other hop on, hop off tours.

I'm giving it two stars because the guide was great. Otherwise it's a one star.
There was only one pro- the tour guide Melvin. He was extremely knowledgeable, funny, and friendly, when we could hear him.

Cons- very unorganized and not worth the price. We went to the ticket booth by Beale street. The website was not up to date with the locations and didn't have a map showing routes or pick up points. It also said the ticket booth was at Beale by the Hard Rock Cafe. The HRC is closed and the booth is actually one block over. We arrived a little after 10 and it was closed so I called the number because the website didn't have a schedule posted other than they started at 10. I was told they would be by our location at 10:40 am so we bought tickets online and since we had time walked down to the Peabody. We arrived back at the booth about 1033 because I had just looked at my watch. By 10:50 nothing so I called again, they said he had been there already but was still in the area so was able to come by and pick us up. Otherwise it would have been another 90 minutes before the next pickup.
The bus arrived, the guide was Melvin, who was great but the setup was terrible. The air conditioner wasn't working properly and there were only postcard sized windows that could be opened. The guide was using a portable speaker with a microphone which he was holding and talking into while he was driving. Someone eventually asked him to turn on the air but when he did it was clear it was not working properly. It was so loud you couldn't hear him so he turned it on to cool and then turned it off again so we could hear him.
We went round once and decided we would get off at the Civil Rights Museum first with the plan to go to Sun studios after. We were given a printed schedule of the planned times/stops for the day. There wasn't a clearly marked stop so we went back to where he dropped us off 10 min before the estimated time. After 20 min no bus and by that time we figured it would be faster and easier to just go get our rental car and drive ourselves which is what we did the rest of the afternoon. Even though we went to the same stops we never did see the bus again the rest of the day.
Again the guide was great, the rest of the experience was not. It had a lot of potential because Memphis has a fascinating history but I wouldn't do this one again. I'd try a different tour.

Tour driver was very knowledgeable. We did not hop off, preferring to do the whole trip then explore after.

Called at 11 am to see when the bus would be by the Pyramid. We're told 12:o5 pm...by 12:25pm I grew impatient. Called again, was told bus was there at 12:05 pm. I informed her it wasn't. She kept saying it was... asking questions where we were sitting. Confirmed we were in the correct spot. Told again it was there. Informed her 3 times the bus did NOT stop here at 12:05 pm. We'll that was my one time in Memphis with no Hop on Hop Off Bus tour. Thanks for absolutely horrible customer service. It was very lacking if you didn't catch my tone. Very disappointed tourist.

We were in Memphis during the quiet winter period so were able to book a 10am tour at 8am the same morning.
Our bus driver/ tour guide Ms.Evelyn was amazing, giving us an idea of the layout and history of Memphis as well as the main attractions and restaurant recommendations. We were then able to curate which attractions we were dropped off at and Evelyn was very punctual on the pickups.
Highly recommend to anyone looking for a comprehensive introduction to Memphis.

Going to agree with the other recent reviews here...this was disappointing. I do not recommend booking in advance. The schedule changes without notice, even though the website says to download it. Communication from company is unclear and staff is argumentative.
