My mom & I had a great experience staying at Martin Hill Inn for our girls getaway! The contactless check in/ out was super simple and convenient. The grounds were well maintained, we are excited to return later in the year to see the garden in full bloom.
Our room was super cute, clean, and had everything we needed to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Perfect walking distance to downtown!
100% will be returning to Martin Hill!

Gorgeous hotel within walking distance of the downtown area. Our room was well maintained and had its own 3 season room looking out over the garden area. The bed was also perhaps the most comfortable I've had in a hotel room.
Also a shout out to the staff I spoke with, who were super friendly.
Would definitely stay here again next time I visit the area.

Only problem is steep stairs. They probably are original to old colonial. The rooms are all modern and very clean. Close to town and some restaurants. Bed was very comfortable. And the no person access to room was very easy. We would stay again.

We stayed in the Sea Witch room and loved it! The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious, and the shower pressure was great. The walls are a bit thin but they provide you with a noise machine to drown out the loud snorer in the room next door 🙂 Despite the below freezing temperatures outside, the temperature control in the room was excellent and didn't make the room stuffy. Our only complaint was the sidewalk and steps up to the building door weren't shoveled, so it was hard to drag our suitcases through snow. Regardless, we can't wait to come back, especially in the warmer months, so we can see the garden in full bloom.

What a hidden Gem! We were looking for a local one night get away near home for a fun date night and the Martinhill Inn was it. It was an easy walk to down town portsmouth, has off street parking. Easy contactless check in. Our room was just as describe and so clean and cozy! The bed was very comfortable and they had a nice bathroom. The whole Inn from the courtyard to the entry way to our room was very clean and taken care of. We went during off season so they offered a one night stay, which is hard to find in most places on a weekend. The price was very affordable! We will stay here again for sure! Cant wait to ho again

Very happy to have discovered this little gem! Room was clean, beautifully appointed. It was cozy, and I loved the contactless check-in. The staff was still available via text or phone if I had any questions. Lots of good restaurants and shops nearby. Hope to be back!

The contactless check-in process was easy; the code for the door lock was sent to me the morning of our check-in date. We stayed in the Noonday suite which is on the first floor of the Guest House. There was a guest staying in the suite above us, but noise was not an issue. The beside table stored a white noise machine which was a bonus. The price for a two night weekend stay was cheaper than the big chain hotel, and we liked the short direct walk to downtown. We liked that off-street parking is included, but we parked on Islington Street in front of the inn. The bathroom had a comfortable sized shower, and was well designed and clean. We would definetly stay here again.
