Unfortunately, I would not recommend this offering words of praise in the past. I had planned my daughter's birthday here months in advance, put down a deposit, and even promoted this farm on my social media. Out of the blue, "an event" came up and they were trying to change the date of our party after all arrangements had been made. After discussion through email stating that "things should be fine", time passed and I emailed after no communication to ensure things were smooth and to start counting up participants (they do not respond to phone calls). It was then that I was told through a quick email that they couldn't accommodate us and canceled our date.

As an apology, they offered us a "free" lesson, which does not replace the hassle of trying to make last minute changes that we were hoping to avoid by booking what was thought to be a reputable place. It's understandable that things can happen, but it was apparent that they will not stand by their word or communicate with clients.

Been riding here for5 years and my daughter loves it. The instructors are great and they teach more than just the basics. Horses are well taken care of and they look out for their well being. Great environment for kids to be around

I had a great deal from Groupon to bring my grandson for beginners lessons in riding. My grandson loved it, the teachers are wonderful, and attentive. I was amazed on how much he learned with 4 lessons. I highly recommend this facility. Very safe, clean and professional.

I started riding here as a beginner, meaning I knew nothing about horse care at the moment. Now I have been riding for years and my #1 priority is horse care, unlike Kierson. The horses are in poor condition and overworked every day. Lesson after lesson with no break in between. The horses are skinny and not feed correctly. One time at the stables there was a very lame horse, limping, but they put a rider on her anyways. This is an inappropriate and cruel use of equines. Don’t send your children here.

My daughter is on her 4th lesson now and we've been very happy. The staff has been very patient and kind. It has rain for two of her lessons in the indoor rink has been fantastic. They even recommended a place we could go to get gear at a reasonable price.

I love Kierson Farm! I would never go to a different farm! This barn offers English style riding programs for beginner to show-level riders. Kierson is always very clean and safe. The instructors are always looking out for the kids' safety. They also never push kids past their limit and always keep them in their riding level. As for the horses, they are VERY well trained and are always on their best behavior. The payments are very easy and always affordable. My daughter usually comes to the camps, because she gets to spend more time (6 hours!) with the horses. The tack is always very clean and well maintained. However, if you plan on taking lessons regularly, you will have to purchase some specific clothing. These include black Kentucky jodhpurs, black paddock boots, an English riding helmet, and a decent pair of English riding gloves. All these clothes are available at an equestrian store called Horseman's Outlet. This store is very close to Kierson, only 10 minutes! I also love that you get to have a FREE Introductory Riding Lesson. This offers you to get to ride a horse/pony for 30 minutes at 2 of the 3 gaits that you get to learn at Kierson Farm. These 2 gaits are the walk and trot. You get to learn to canter (a slow gallop) after you MASTER the walk and trot. This may take a while, so don't get discouraged! After that, your instructor helps you get back to the stalls and put your horse in one. After this, the instructor teaches you how to tack off, where the tack goes after you are done, the different pieces of tack used to ride a horse (saddle, saddle pad, girth, and bridle), and gives you a mini tour of the barn. When your instructor is giving you the tour, she shows/tells you the horses and their names. Overall, this is the best stable you ever find in New Jersey! I hope you try this barn and hope you have a great time exploring the world of horses!

I went here as part of a Boy Scout trip. They were wonderful with the boys. They made sure they were safe and had fun. The horses were beautiful and tame. Fun to ride and will do it again!
