Holiday Inn Washington-Central/White House, an IHG Hotel - Washington, District of Columbia

We were on a quick one-night trip and stayed at this Holiday Inn for proximity to Logan Circle. The bed was super comfortable, and the front desk representative was friendly and knowledgable and just overall very good at her job! Our only disappointment was finding a used cosmetics brush covered in hair in our room, seemingly missed from a previous cleaning, so housekeeping services could stand to be improved. Otherwise highly recommended.

Staff is friendly, professional, and helpful when needed. Room is clean, bed is comfortable, quieter than many city hotels even when in a room facing the street. Free water bottles is a plus for me. Location is convenient to historic sights, metro, shopping, and restaurants. The seating is not bad but not overly comfortable. But why stay in the room to sit all day when there is so much in the city to see and do. I would skip the in house free coffee and walk next door to the actual coffee shop-definitely worth it. In house restaurant not a good breakfast choice. Eggs tasted like powdered, bread only toasted on one side, all barely warm. The coffee shop has pastries and other restaurants are close enough to walk for a better meal.

Staff were very helpful and polite, the room was small and bathroom far too tiny for 4 people.

We had a double with sofa bed for the children, the sofa bed we had to pull out ourselves on arrival. We were only there for 2 nights thankfully as far too cramped for any more.

Coffee machine didn’t work so I had to request a replacement which I did get quickly; we had no hair dryer and one was eventually brought to me which almost blew up - I did tell staff but not sure if they took it to replace as this was just before we checked out.

It is reasonably priced and has a great location so probably fair for what we paid but I would not recommend for a long stay.

Took the kids to see our Nations Mall. Overall everything was pretty good. Parking was easy to get and out. Not far from everywhere we wanted to go. We had an issue with our room that was quickly corrected. They would have received 5 stars had there not been an issue in the first place. Also, I am not sure why we only received 2 breakfast vouchers when there were 4 travelers (husband, 2 kids, and myself). Overall, I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

The staff were good, friendly, and helpful.

There were a few teething problems re-the air conditioning unit that simply wouldn't work on demand. It was slightly annoying as it took an hour or two, so we couldn't leave the room until it was repaired!

However, the staff were willing to fix things and put it right!

They recognised my status as an IHG Platinum Elite member.

We were upgraded to a suite which was very nice and comfortable, and the rooms were larger than expected.

The dining room and buffet breakfast was quite nice.

It wasn't free but it was a proper one with everything that one expects. However, there was a fun theme restaurant on the premises - Johnny Rockets - which was much better!

I was impressed by the suite which had a separate living room and two TV's! The size of the rooms were larger than expected but only had one dustbin / trash can. In all that space, one expects at least one per room!

There is a rooftop outdoor pool, but it was already shut for the season!

There's a huge laundry room which was free of charge - the best I've seen so far, and the lobby / lounge was spacious and very nice.

There were two lounges as well as access to part of the dining area. One of the best lounges I've seen.

The location of this hotel was surprisingly good!

Location is everything. The White House was a mere 20 -minute bus /walk away, the Lincoln Memorial 30 - 40 minutes away and American history everywhere you look!

There's a bus-stop about 5-7 minute walk away and a variety of shops, restaurants, bars, not too far away. Public transport was very easy to use and everywhere felt clean and safe.

Again, the staff were good, friendly, and helpful.

My son and I enjoyed our stay.

Very professional staff. The room was spacious and clean. I was surprised at how quiet the rooms are. Location of the hotel is walking distance to several local restaurants and the White House. Highly recommend. And did I mention affordable?

The hotel stay was great. If i had to nitpick i would say the coffee in the room is bad as well as the coffee creamer. The staff at Johnny Rockets should inform guests that kids eat free from kids menu. I was charged for my son and didn't realize it till it was too late. Other than that the hotel is excellent and whoever is managing it is doing a great job. thank you.

I stayed here in October for a week and had a wonderful stay. The hotel is located just a few blocks from the White House, and accessible to the restaurants and shopping near Dupont Circle and Logan Circle. My room was large, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. My bathroom was a bit small, but the furniture and look of the hotel was contemporary, minimal, and clean. The staff was helpful, and the maids did a great job. The staff at the Johnny Rockets restaurant on the ground floor was very helpful as well. I would definitely stay at this property again.
