Dale was an absolute life saver when my friend, my dog and myself were flooded out of a nearby airbnb. Dale had little to no notice of our arrival apart from a brief phone call explaining our predicament and had no obligation to take us in for the night. Not only did she provide a warm fire, wonderful conversation and a comfortable room she also made us breakfast and coffees in the morning! Our experience here wound up making our entire trip so much more memorable and I cannot wait to come back one day!

We spent 2 nights with Dale in her beautiful home in Tamworth. We were delighted to find mountain views in this historic home with miles of xc ski/snow shoe trails across the street. We also took advantage of the Wonalancet trails in White Mountains National Forest 15 minutes away. We felt so welcome and at home, will definitely go back again. Next time we will build in more time for the extensive network of trails nearby and the village -- the distillery, the Lyceum, bakery, etc.

What a find! I had business nearby and a friend suggested Highland House because she knows I like antique homes with a cozy atmosphere. This B&B is located on a quiet street just beyond the charming village center. The grounds are large and lovely. The front rooms overlook the mountains. An eclectic array of antique and vintage furniture and decorations live in rooms with crown moldings and quirky corners. The innkeeper, Dale, is a lovely and fascinating hostess who makes a delicious, healthy breakfast. Sit by the fire and enjoy a glass of wine and a book, then snooze your cares away. Note: maybe not perfect for small children as antique homes have steep staircases and somewhat fragile accoutrements.

We found the Highland House on a whim and couldn't have been happier with our discovery. Dale was a wonderful host and made us feel comfortable throughout the duration of our stay. The room was clean and neat. The decor was elegantly rustic, we loved the art. Also Dale's dog Zoey was adorable and we enjoyed hanging out with her! We look forward to staying at the inn again.

Close to the quaint and interesting village of Tamworth, this B&B has lots of character. The country roads are great for exploring by car or bike, and views in all directions are fabulous! Saturday is for hiking or XC skiing right from the door if tbere's enough snow. Sunday afternoon is live music in the village, after a fabulous breakfast with hostess Dale Bragdon. And relaxing by the big hearth fireplace is always a treat. Love this place!

Highland House is in a picture book setting and we couldn't fault the warmth of the welcome, the cleanliness of the rooms and the breakfast. They also catered for the small wedding reception and did a great job. The configuration of the rooms and their relationship to bathrooms is a bit unusual but we certainly enjoyed a great sleep in this beautiful, peaceful place. It would make a great stopover on the way from Boston to the White Mountains.

We have not stayed at the bed and breakfast here, but we hosted a luncheon in the Coopers Shed (barn) on the property, and it was just lovely. All of our guests were just amazed at the decor and the picturesque setting. The proprietress, Dale, does a wonderful job with everything, and is pleasant to do business with. If I ever was in the situation of hosting another similar event, i would most certainly consider this venue again.

We dined at the HIgthland House B&B for a catered dinner to benefit the local theater group. It was held in the old cooper's shed (barrel making), softly lit with parasols and Chinese lanterns shading the bulbs, all sorts of wonderful things to study and enjoy, antique dress, old tools, paintings, etc. ||||The meal was tasty and very well prepared. Dale Bragdon, the hostess is a painter and lover of photography, and it shows in the decor. Charming, when she discovered my husband and I were photographers, she shared some special work she had.||||It was a delightful evening, and we would recommend her catering services to anyone.
