Great experience getting to Kobuk National Park and Gates of the Arctic National Park. We booked the tour to land in both parks - the team worked around the clock to keep us up to date on the weather and as soon as an opening appeared, they got us out for a once in a lifetime experience. Easily the best part of our Alaska trip. I’d trust these guys for any flight needs in NW Alaska.

Traveled today to Kobuk Valley and Gates of the Arctic National Park with Golden Eagle Outfitters and had a great day. Would recommend these folks to all!

Jarod dropped our group off for a rafting trip down the Ambler river and picked us up in Kiana. He was an amazing pilot. Julian, one of the other employees, was also really helpful with all of our gear. It was my first time in one of those little planes and it was honestly smoother than most commercial flights. Highly recommend these guys! You can trust them with your life not your sister or wife….

We flew with Golden Eagle Outfitters in late June for the National Park Tour. Jared was our pilot. We had an experience of a lifetime. We’ve got to see this part of Alaska that we wouldn’t be able to any other way. Thanks for helping us cross this off of our bucket list.

Can’t recommend enough! I had an amazing flightseeing tour with Jared. We touched down in Kobuk Valley National Park, Gates if the Arctic National Park, and another nearby area where Jared knew we could see musk ox. Communication was great, the flight was very safe, and overall it was the experience of a lifetime!

Like many people who travel to Kotzebue, I was there to visit the national parks. When I told Jared, the owner of Golden Eagle Outfitters, what I wanted to do, he offered several ideas like a float trip in Kobuk Valley National Park, visiting several national parks, etc. We settled on backpacking in Kobuk, and Jared knew the perfect spot for a drop-off where you could set up camp with easy access to water. The spot was ideal; the mosquitos were not.
Jared is amazing with accommodating last minute changes, and trying to save you some money by pairing up your flight with other passengers. When the mosquitos forced an early departure from Kobuk, Jared picked us up and took us plus some flight-seeing passengers to the Bering Land Bridge. He dropped us off there for some more hiking and spectacular scenery before a final pick up for the commercial flight back home.
What I like about Golden Eagle Outfitters is that they 1) offer great suggestions about where to go and what to do based on the park and weather conditions, 2) they look out for you - I needed to be back in Kotzebue for a Friday flight to Anchorage so Jared picked us up on Thursday night since it would too foggy to land Friday morning and he didn't want us to miss our flight, and 3) they're honest and try to save you money. In addition to that, Jared's just a fantastic guy!
When I return to see Gates of the Arctic National Park, I'll definitely use Golden Eagle Outfitters again.

Good folks with a can do attitude. This is the crew you want flying you.
A heads up though to first-time lower 48’ers; check your expectations of on time flying commitments. Weather plays a huge affect on when they can fly. And if you’re scheduled to fly on day “x” you might not even if weather is good. Things can get backed up from prior days bad weather and if someone has been waiting in the bush they can be the priority. Build in a2 extra days if you’re doing park fly-ins. Hopefully you won’t need them, but…

Pilot Jared said he was seeing a small herd of muskox nearby so we discussed the terms and took off in a Piper Cup for an hour of flight seeing. Jared found them, landed and I hiked a bit closer for photos. Fun flying in this small aircraft! The.next day our group of 10 flew with Golden Outfitters to the start of our canoe trip, and were picked up 10 days later. Great team of pilots.
