What a wonderful experience, made better by the personable attention given by our guide, Nate, at Get After It Guiding! After expressing interest in a couple of tours offered on his website, Nate promptly emailed with details about our interests. After speaking with him over the phone, he was able to customize our selected tours based on our limited time visiting Fairbanks complete with airport drop off.
A fellow veteran and outdoorsman, we hit it off from the introductions. The private tour he offered allowed for flexibility. He spent as much or as little time as we wanted at each site and stopped upon request so I could take photos. Special attention to details like providing water, hot drinks, snacks, quarters for the locker, and towels were nice touches.
Nate guided us to the arctic circle and Cheena Hot Springs, but he knew that the point of our trip was to see the Northern Lights. If we had booked a tour with other companies, I’m convinced we would’ve missed them. Most tours are from 10pm-2am. The night was clear, but the aurora did not display until about 3:00. Nate spotted the first sign and drove us to a perfect viewing area just in time to see a beautiful display of God’s creative power. We even saw the lights from our plane on the way in to Fairbanks thanks to Nate’s advice regarding which side of the plane to sit on.
We had a wonderful destination trip definitely made better by the thoughtful and personal attention of our new friend, Nate. He definitely helped to make our dreams come true on this trip. We highly recommend only considering Get After It Guiding to anyone planning a trip to Fairbanks.
