We booked one of the rooms with a king size bed and fitness room. The fitness area had a Gym Rax (rack held dumbbells, weights), Five Feet to Fitness (Workout programs for all ages) and Life Fitness Cycling bike were great surprises in our room. We loved the wide open space to lay out the yoga mat for meditation and stretches. Appreciated sinking into the fluffy, soft mattress and pillows. Coffeemaker and refrigerator were perfect for our 3 night stay. A special recognition to Leah. Her friendliness and professionalism were appreciated every morning! |Double Tree by Hilton Tucson Downtown Convention Center is a place my family and I will plan to stay again when we visit Tucson again! The hotel is located perfectly for us and all we want and need to do in Tucson. We arrived in our rental car, which was nice and parked to have it ready for the morning and all the things we needed to do during our visit. Alas, the key fob battery was dead....so we replaced it. After all that, the fob didn't open the door! Had to use the key in the fob to open the rental car. Success! Hopes were dashed because the battery in this, pretty much new, rental car, was DEAD! We needed to get somewhere and the only thing I was offered by the rental company was to wait for a tow truck to take it away and hopefully get a ride to the airport to pick another car (no promise they would have one and it would take about 4-6 hours). Long story short, Greg, one of the awesome valets at the hotel, offered to use his jumper cables and his car to get this rental started! He went out of his way to help us and also let me keep the jumper cables in case it didn't start where we had to be. He went way and above his duties to help and he was so nice and kind about it. It's nice to have that kind of customer service and all the other valets were exceptionally helpful and nice. Thank you Greg!

The rooms are spacious and comfortable with a beautiful bathroom. The beds were comfy but they are super low so it's hard to get in and out of or even just sit on the bed for a minute. Breakfast was delicious, but dinner was inedible. We ordered chicken tacos and asada tacos, the food was too salty to eat, tortillas were hard, meat was tough, and the rice was uncooked and crunchy. Didn't love paying $20 for parking, but overall it's a beautiful and modern hotel.

Great experience, I will definitely come back! The very clean pool was a highlight. And so was the delicious a la carte breakfast! The bartender recommended drink was a nice touch ending a long work day!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. It’s right next to the convention center(walking distance) very convenient. There are a few things that we were not aware of- $20 dollar parking fee, I thought hotels parking are free. Another thing we noticed is that the refrigerator is inside an enclosed cabinet. So every time we open the door, it’s super hot inside there. Also if you would consider “complimentary breakfast”, this would be nice. I wasn’t aware of this either.
We didn’t try the Taqueria downstairs, but the menu pictures look delicious. Oh yes another thing, on the APP, Front desk wasn’t able to activate the “digital key”. It’s wasn’t a big deal, but it would have been nice to have it activated.
Other than this. Good rooms, comfy beds. Gym and pool are great.

Beware: The hotel accused us of smoking in the room and charged us $500.
Neither me or my wife have ever smoked, we are non smokers and have been for forever. The manager kept saying “I understand your frustration but he trusts his technology” which only increased my frustration.

Also when you check in the pre authorize 125 dollars a night for incidentals. When I asked the person checking us in he made a comment we have to pay the bills somehow. This sounded crazy but it does go along with them creating false charges where they think they can get away with it.

Came into Tucson for a surprise party and this property was a literal 4min walk so as far as location it was perfect. The rooms were amazing, they provided all the requests I put in (not near an elevator, high floor, extra pillows, non connecting room) and even gave us a corner spot with a large balcony. Loved that for us, it was beautiful. Property was clean and beds were soft and comfy and LOVED the extra icy cold room. Negatives were parking is $20, we would've parked ourselves on the street if we knew ahead of time, nobody mentioned it (valet guys or front desk) breakfast not included which always makes me meh but wouldnt have swayed my opinion on this hotel and the bars closed early. Other than that, we'd totally stay here again. First timers for a Hilton brand, we've always been a Marriott family so we were pleasantly surprised with the comforts. Thanks DoubleTree!

I must say it is wonderful staying here, but Jordan "valet" stole the show! He was such a pleasure pulling up in the evenings and getting such a wonderful greeting from him. He was absolutely AWESOME!!! Jordan made sure to ask how was our day, we felt like he personally took care of us. He's an asset to DoubleTree, keep up the great service DoubleTree, until next time!
