The rooms are absolutely smoke-ridden. The atmosphere feels extremely shady and unsafe. The staff is either extremely pleasant and helpful or extremely disgruntled and checked out entirely. Even with a locked door the overall feeling of safety is fleeting at best and leaving any type of valuables in your room is probably not a good idea at all. The "permanent residents" vary drastically from super nice and seemingly trustworthy to outright untrustworthy, uncaring, terrible individuals who are clearly not involved in anything decent at all. There are always alcohol containers left about and trash collected in multiple areas in piles, the pool especially as this is absolutely a party area that does not feel at all accommodating for children. The only up sides to this place are its location and cheap rates... But the price of safety, cleanliness, and distance to certain places is absolutely not worth all of the risks. Avoid.

Hi. I'm Lulu and despite what others have said in the past about this establishment I would have to say I have not received treatment anything like that. The staff here have been kind, accommodating and associating with staff ive experience an endearing sense of friendliness and belonging. Helps when you're going through enough already you know? The room my friend rented there's absolutely nothing wrong with it, this room specifically looks as if it's been remodeled recently which I've been meaning to ask. TV, is perfect, fridge, AC, furniture, fixtures all in pristine condition, zero complaints. Need less to say i was slightly surprised and beyond grateful. The area the establishment is located is not the best but hey it's Tucson and we make the best of our beautiful city! Thank you Red Lion. On budget and looking for a comfortable stay I recommend Red Lion before any other hotel along the freeway.. Have a nice day. 🙂

This is a good location for on the fly reservations, it’s right next to downtown, near a few public transportation spots, as well as having a Carls Jr right next door. There is also a Circle K just a few minutes walk from the hotel. The front desk staff is wonderful and cheery, even in the late hours of the evening. If you’re looking to save on your stay but still want to be close to the convention center and all the links to the university, this is my #1 recommendation.

Stay here OK as last resort.
Old but clean hotel.
My room had no remote so I had to unplug the TV to turn it off.
Internet was nonexistent.
Staff friendly when I checked in. Listening to music on headphones and inattentive when I checked out.

While the front desk staff was very nice, the room itself was DISGUSTING! Carpets were crusty, the blankets and sheets were stained. There were boogers wiped on the side of the mattress and what looked like dried up blood on the wall. We only stayed home night, thank God! I have family in Tucson and they gave me sheets, blankets and pillows to use while there. I checked the beds to make sure there were no bed bugs. I know this area is where the gem show is every year, so I thought the room would be okay. Ive stayed in other Red Lion's before and thought the experience would be fine. It was completely disgusting! Never ever ever will I stay there again.

Easily be broken into the entire place is a dump. Customer service is the worst. I still haven’t seen my refund. And my calls never get returned. Do not stay here ever

Booked it on a site said had rooms get there and said no rooms but when sitting out side people were going up getting rooms and my 400 dollars I used to book with on site couldn't get bacc for weeks cuz 7 to ten business days and the site called and they had rooms to bad service worker was sleeping when walked in and it was 6pm pritty sure why he said that no rooms didn't want to get introuble

Only thing I can say is the location is nice easy to get on highway and explore Tucson. If I can give negative stars I would. Front desk lady RUDE. Our check in was at room still not ready. So we ask for available room put us I to 2 queen beds. We stayed for about 30 minutes. Filthy room. Cigarette burns in the blanket. Dirty bathroom broken tile tripped me. Awful smell in the room patio door was unlocked and door damaged. So I went to the front desk and turned in our keys and was told we would get a refund and that the corporate manager guy noted that he approved to have Expedia call them and he approved the refund. As of today 5/19 Expedia stated they were unable to get approval from the Red Lion. Slow drain in the bathroom. Television says to speak into the remote that’s not an option remote doesn’t have that. And the remote was disgusting. About the tile I stepped on the edge it flipped up and I tripped. The burn holes. We had booked this room for sons graduation and for me to explore Tucson for the first time. We just decided to attend graduation and then just drive back home to Sun City. Please listen I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Horrible customer service horrible follow up and follow through
