Our stop in Trapper Creek was highlighted by a gold panning tour with Denali Gold Tours. Rich and Jason were great guides - making us feel right at home, providing a wealth of information about Alaska, and of course, a great education on gold panning. They set expectations well out front that we would not become multi-millionaires in the endeavor! The location for panning was great - remote and picturesque. Jason was full of stories on the van ride to and from the site. The reindeer dogs topped off the experience in a fantastic way. We highly recommend this tour.

We did a tour with Rich for our Honeymoon and had an absolute blast. Rich was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Alaska and gold mining. We got to see a part of Alaska that many people will truly never experience. He is a great, funny guy...we haven't laughed that long in ages! And the reindeer dogs at the end were delicious. Our day out with Rich was an unforgettable experience for sure. It will be a friendship that last forever! We would recommend that everyone goes out and truly experiences real gold panning with a man that is extremely knowledgeable and a lot of fun. The "McKinley Nugget" is so ever elusive, but we sure had fun with trying to find it. Thanks again Rich, for an amazing day!!

What a blast!! Richard and little Iris were both welcoming and so much fun. Richard is full of stories of the area and local history. He was so attentive and made time for each of us so we really felt like we learned the skill of panning. His spot is beautiful and relaxing so finding gold was just a bonus. Highly recommend Richard if you are planning a trip.
