I had a terrific time the other day at Cynthia’s. I visited with my mum from Canada and this was a surreal experience.

I’d really have to say that doing this tour with Cynthia’s offers an unparalleled perspective of a beautiful and historic land. The vehicles are next level and the paths are really accessible and fun for newcomers.

Most importantly, the service was amazing. We went with Matthew who is a true gentleman - really kind, intelligent, and fun individual who elevated our experience so much more. He went out of his way to have really nice conversations with my mum and I and he had really great stories about the land and the local community, and showed us the local hotspots in a really professional and knowledgeable way.

I think expected to have fun, but this was such a highlight I am really really going to remember and mention to my friends back home.

Kudos to this operation for their professionalism, hospitality, and hosting a great time

Went on a 3 hour ATV tour with Matt and it was an amazing experience! Checked out an old mine, a date farm with delicious date smoothies, and tore it up on desert trails!

Lovely place in the middle of nowhere. House very clean and comfortable. The host Cynthia was very welcoming, gave us tips and showed us some nice places around. We also had such good meals cooked by herself. At night we could watch millions of stars on the chair deck in the middle of palm trees.

Anyone of any age, who is looking for a unique adventure in the Mojave Desert MUST take a four-wheeler tour with Matthew of Lost World Tours. With Cynthia's Basecamp as the point of departure, you will travel to abandoned mine sites, rock formations, and views that would be otherwise inaccessible. Matthew is an engaging and informative guide - he is also mindful of safety and provided a through briefing. Just don't forget the phenomenal date shake when you stop at China Ranch!
Can not recommend this experience more enthusiastically.

During my stay I felt very welcomed and at home; the prepared meals were amazing, the night view of the stars was spectacular and the accomodations made my stay in Death Valley infinitely more comfortable!

This is what I wanted, a dessert escape from the rush of the city and crowds yet I still wanted that home away from home stay and that's what Cynthia's delivered.
Perfect spot to get away and go exploring off road into the mountains or on bike.
Cynthia pointed out various spots of interest and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.
I stayed in the tipi, and it was a charm!! Was able to use nearby trailer for showers and some light cooking. Pictures posted (check them out)!!
Be sure to ask for off roading adventures, she can set that up for you on-site (let her know in advance!). Totally worth it 🙂

Cynthia's is a nice place to stay near Shoshone. The proprietor (Cynthia) will make you feel welcome and the lodgings are clean and comfortable. While it's not overly glamorous, you'll sleep well and enjoy your time.

If you fancy a night under the stars in the desert I would 100% recommend Cynthia's! The tipis themselves are authentic but really comfy (and air conditioned), in a very quiet part of the mojave desert. We stayed in the blue one which had a queen size bed and was perfect. Cynthia herself is really friendly and interesting to talk to, as is Grazia & Chad. Chad did a wonderful star safari for us, which included an extreme close up of the moon, jupiter and saturn. It was just incredible!
