My wife and I went to Bodin's to access Lake Suprior on our ice fishing trip. They charge a reasonable $8 access fee. There is parking for 4 - 5 vehicles. Access to the lake was good. Thanks.

We loved the resort. Stayed in the blue cabin, beautiful views, my kids loved the beach, the property was very clean and well kept, very nice accommodations. You have to be careful about which property you book, however. We booked the blue cabin (1/2 of a duplex), but upon check-in, were told we were in the gray cabin. “The gray cabin half of the blue duplex.” Gray is great, too, but MUCH smaller than blue. Blue has a large loft bedroom, full sized dining table, sunroom/porch, much bigger living area, patio off the bedroom… so it kind of felt like a bait and switch. Also didn’t feel like I got any sort of straight-forward answer upon check in. Finally, after looking again at the properties online, where it seems the property listings are a bit ambiguous, and checking my reservation which very clearly states I reserved blue and then asking for a refund for the difference, then we were told we could move our stuff from the gray cabin to the blue. So that hugely affected my trust for the owner, so I can’t recommend staying there for that reason. But the owner is very responsive and everything is well cared for. I just need to be able to trust the owner of a place I’m going to have my kids sleeping in at night, and I can’t help but wonder why this whole thing felt very shady in trying to stay in the property I booked.

Absolutely love the view from our "blue" cottage that was actually white. There was room beside our cottage to store our boat. They have a boat launch conveniently located on the property. The owner Bill came around to welcome us with his puppy. Gave my husband fishing advice on where and what baits to use for the time of year (fall). He also informed us that this cottage was being bulldozed in a couple weeks to make way for a new one. Looking forward to seeing it. The grounds are well maintained and have seating by the water for watching the sun rise or set. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Our family spent three nights at Bodins Resort, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We rented the older white cabin and the newer red cabin. Both were very spacious, well-equipped, clean and fit our needs perfectly. The red cabin has a wonderful open layout and made it so easy and relaxing to visit and enjoy meals together. Views from both cabins were absolutely magnificent ! The grounds are very well maintained and much larger than expected. We brought up our kayaks and it was so easy to launch off from their beach area. Mornings were especially relaxing, enjoying a cup of coffee by the waterfront and taking in the beautiful sunrises. Nighttime was just as special, though, with several areas to have a campfire. The location was perfect — we hiked the Houghton Nature preserve, the sea cave trail starting at Meyers beach, the waterfall trails at Copper Falls State Park, etc., and enjoyed one evening in Bayfield walking thru the town and by the marina. We definitely will visit Bodins Resort again in the future, but next time will give ourselves more time. I give this resort my highest recommendation. If you like a natural setting, I really don’t think you will find a better place to stay!!

The location is truly beautiful. Two of the four homes are new and I am sure they are beautiful too. We stayed in one of the older two, blue house, and I would never do that again. Frankly I have nightmares from it, I will just say it had something to do with septic tank and our interests or comfort were not a priority for the owner. We would not stay again.

Pure contentedness is how my husband and I would describe our all-too brief stay at Bodin's Bayfield Resort. After a hectic year of COVID, buying a house, getting dogs, and settling in to married life, we couldn't imagine a more perfect place to stay for our 1st anniversary. We loved relaxing on the deck at night, waking up to an incredible view of Lake Superior each morning, and having a fire on the lakeshore. Our dogs loved all the grass to run and running along the shore. Bill was a wonderful host who made sure we had everything we needed. The cabin was so cozy; complete with everything you'd need and thoughtful touches that made it feel like home. We can't wait to come back and stay longer! P.S. Bodin Fisheries has some of the best smoked fish we have ever had! Definitely check it out 🙂

Our stay at Bodin's Resort was fantastic. It was our first trip to the area, and we couldn't have been happier with this property.||||The location is excellent--close to Washburn for necessities; and a very short drive to Bayfield and everything that area has to offer.||||But even being well located, it feels very remote and quiet, right on the water. So peaceful.||||We stayed in the White Cabin, and it was perfect for us.One of the main reasons we chose Bodin's is that they advertised as being dog-friendly, and they certainly were! Our two dogs just loved the huge yard and surrounding areas.||||The cabin was well-appointed, with everything we needed for a week long visit. It has it's own deck facing the lake, and a Weber grill we used nearly every night.||||And as an FYI, the lake is generally east of the cabins--you get beautiful sunrises! (but no sunsets here - which was not a drawback for us.)||||We hope to return!
