Such a beautiful park! Definitely worth the hour drive for us. Loads of trails, beautiful lake from a former quarry. We enjoyed the variety of scenery with the different hiking trails and it was fun looking at fossils and rocks along the lake shore. Even saw some red tailed hawks soaring on the drive in! 10/10 would recommend Big Rock!

There are Western Chorus Frogs here year round because of the ground water seepage. Wonderful bridge over the creek. Does get muddy

Quiet little man made lake in Kane County. Siegler lake is a catch and release lake with no motorized boats allowed. Also, no swimming too. There is a crushed limestone path around the lake with benches were you can sit and enjoy the view. The water is clear and you can see the fish from the edge. There is a restroom at the entrance but not near the lake.

So pretty! No swimming in the quart but definitely access points to the rock ledges. You have to be in the lookout for the small paths leading there. Very quiet and serene. Small uphill (then downhill) 1.25 mile route around entire lake. Trail alternates between dirt, rocks, gravel, limestone. They allow horses so you might see some riders out! Very clean. Lots of fishing. Parking lot allows several cars and two sets of toilets (very clean).

Love this forest preserve. The path around the lake is beautiful. Other walking paths feel like you’re out in the country and can take in the view. Dog friendly walking trails.

We hiked out to the bridge, and then around the lake. Bring your bug spray!

Lots of little paths down towards the lake to explore, and everything was well marked.
