I was very disappointed with my last visit, in December '24. I took the day off work and drove over an hour to spend the day relaxing with the girls. Upon arrival, we were told the pool was only 68 degrees and the sauna, steam room, and whirlpool were not operational. We had massages scheduled so we decided to stick around and try to make the best of the day.

The massages were good, as usual. This is the only reason I gave a star. However, the whole day was soured by only having access to a couple salt rooms and the very cold pool.

We were each given day passes to use the facility within the next couple months. However, after many calls to see if the facilities are in working order, I appears there is no plan to get the whirlpool operational. Perhaps it will be turned into a sitting area like the whirlpool that used to be in the women's locker room.

It appears the other facilities were restored but it just isn't girls day if we can't catch up while soaking in a whirlpool. Sadly, it seems we will need to find a new spa as the Abbey Resort doesn't appear to be maintaining their facilities.

My wife and I just checked into the Abby (first time) and were met with great service upon check-in, unfortunately the opposite when entering the Avani Spa. While they were sold out of everything, the tone and attitude lacked empathy. We attempted to call twice prior, no answer, and didn’t receive a call back. Oddly, when we checked in, the front desk of the resort tried to call 3 times, and no answer…with 2 people at the Avani desk I thought it strange there was zero pickup. It’s not surprising Avani has a less than 4 star rating, even after a few minutes of being there. I would highly recommend some staff training on how to show some decency along with clearly explaining reasons why, and any options or alternatives.

I've only had a few other massages within a similar price range and Avani Spa was by far the most relaxing experience that felt premium and worth every penny! The receptionist was sweet and direct and the Men's locker room was spacious with several amenities (sauna, steam room, showers, and more). While waiting, there was a perfect intensity of aromas and music that provided a very relaxing environment. My masseuse, Mel, was so insanely sweet and took care to not skip any steps during my Body Treatment. She was courteous of my comfort and privacy, as well, which was such a huge plus! My service was the "Avani Signature Bliss" which checked every box off in search of a relaxing, muscle relieving experience. I walked out of the spa room feeling refreshed, hydrated, and most importantly, relaxed. Afterwards, you are allowed to enjoy the pool area/salt room until close where they offer very comforting lounge chairs and coffee machines. Thank you Avani Spa and Mel for the amazing experience during my stay at the Abbey Resort in Lake Geneva!

This was a Christmas gift from my husband that we would have a romantic getaway. Day one if you're not fast enough to sign up and pay extra for the adult pool. So sad to bad. So even though my spot was kept for the sauna, pool etc. and I didn't want to use it (I was only interested in the massage I was getting) my husband couldn't. After the massage no one asks how it went Okay. Day two I'm going in for a facial. The woman was late, not much(only 5 minutes), when she sets something on my eyes it falls off so she replaces it and pushes. I didn't say anything but then it happened again and she pushes harder and when I say "that's uncomfortable when you push" she flicks off light and goes to the next step. She doesn't pick up my arms or legs to rub in lotion. She just rubs some on the part not on the bed. I tell her my lips are very dry and she doesn't offer anything. The facial was the worst I've ever had.

Sad to give this visit only 2 stars! We drove over an hour+ from the Western Suburbs of Chicago to visit Avani on 11/30 because we had such a great experience here in the summer when I visited for my bachelorette. However it was a bit of a disappointment this time around! We came to spend a day leveraging the full service of the spa: Sauna, Steam Room, Salt room, main pool and hot tub, as well as massages, however upon arrival we were told the Sauna and Steam room (two of the Spa offerings we were most wanting to use) were out of order. I wish the staff would have reviewed reservations on the books to see who might be an out of town/day visitor, vs a guest staying in resort, so that we could have had the opportunity to reschedule our visit. We felt very slighted for the price of just a 50 min massage, to really only have access to the main pool area and salt room. For what it's worth, we did have lovely services from both Keisha, and Reyna in our massages - and would recommend them again and again. When I noted the disappointment we had for our experience to the desk staff, no apologies were made... Customer service was definitely lacking! This was supposed to be a special birthday day trip for my sister who lives out of state, and it ended up becoming more of a very long drive.

The services were incredible!! The spa facilities are very solid. Is multiple salt rooms, including one co-ed and one in the women's locker room. Also in the locker room is a sauna and steam room.

The pool area is really nice. I love that you can order food that they'll bring to your chair.

My only complaint: I was staying at The Abbey and thought that meant I could access the spa even on days that I didn't have services. As it turns out, you have to pay $40 for a day pass (it's cheaper during the week) for the days where you didn't have services over $100. I had actually booked $350 in services but it was on one day and so the next day I had to pay for a day pass even though I spent more than enough to cover a few days. I asked if they could do anything and they said no.

The last time I came here there were maggots in the showers and I vowed to never return. Well I heard they had new management and had done extensive renovations. Unfortunately, it’s still disappointing at best. The renovations didn’t actually restore this place to what it once was. For example, the women’s hot tub was simply close off instead of repaired. Almost every other locker is broken. The showers were STILL gross with visible mold in the drains. Just avoid this place unless and until someone actually decides to take some pride in managing it. The prices they charge for this experience are outrageous.

I had a facial at the spa the other day. It was an okay facial. I understand they follow a protocol but I don't feel it's necessary for the esthetician to leave the room during a service. A client could have a reaction during this time. Otherwise, the facilities were beautiful. I had a great relaxing day.
